WTF?! Here in NZ we normally get everything uncensored. Some movies and games are sold saying 'banned in oz' or 'uncensored version'. Of all the games to do this on. Ugh. Instead we can revel in the uncensored version of jericho. Joy.
Easiest bet is to grab the New Zealand version. All games that are censored in OZ are left untouched this side of the Tasman.

This is the U.S. using the terrorism card to justify policies that are based more on self interest than anything else. Given the fanatics seem capable of evading the most well funded military on earth they won't have any problems using strong encryption. Of course there is some potential to monitor the bad evil doers, but I suspect it will largely be used to keep tabs on the rest of society.

While I really enjoyed Mass Effect i wouldn't put it over Uncharted. It's close IMO but the slightly flat combat and graphical glitches hurt ME while Uncharted is phenomenally polished and well balanced. Regardless it been a brilliant year for gamin all round so I can't complain.
This survey doesn't mean 3/8s of f*ck all. My first PS2 was also my first dvd player and I never bought any DVD's, apparently because I wasn't "into" them.

Fox news are a heavily commercially sensitive news organization. They have a history of modifying stories to appease business interests. The best example is the Monsanto debacle about 10 years back, ending in their winning of a legal case that allows them to fire journo's for not lying on behalf of fox news. Truth and public interest? No money in it apparently. You can't honestly believe that Fox wheeled out this kid because of a slow news day?
COD4 uses texture streaming, which the cell is far better suited to over the 360 as it can devote more resources to the process. I think this is one of the main reasons the PS3 will slowly look better than the 360 over time. That said the differences may not be overly huge.
Apparently the folk at Weta workshop (Peter's special effects house) has put some serious time already into creeating the Halo world. They are the best in the business IMO. Thou they will be busy now on Avatar, James Cameroon's huge japanese inspired si-fi epic.
I'm hoping it all comes through, even if the story line is weak (which I highly doubt given jacksons record) it will be an utter visual treat.

At the risk of getting my head bitten off by folk who take brand loyalty a little too seriously, I don't agree Halo will make or break the 360. The Halo series is already popular, but it didn't save the original xbox coming far behind in the previous gen. The current sales are a testament to the better start the 360 has this time round, and what looks to be a strong continuation on a brilliant franchise. But I don't see how it will push the 360 ahead.

Actually the NZ dollar is just about buying 80 US cents - meaning that here in NZ we have one of, if not the most expensive Playstations on the planet. Personally I think Sony is taking the piss not dropping the price. They must be laughing, or at least not loosing any money on the units.
Just a thought on the AI - I'd imagine that the game would have been on the easiest possible level of difficulty - You could imagine the embarrassment if the chap giving the demo was cut down half way through.
perhaps "these guys" are jumping the gun on the news. But its hardly a stretch. The average punter does not pour over sites such as this one trying to understand where the "war" will go. Nor do they hold such emotional attachment/hatred to a company as to influence their choices. Rather a massive company like blockbuster pulling out of a format would seem, and quite rightly so, a sign of impending doom for a formate. So why buy in?
About 12 hours playin civilization. I can't do seriously long spells on intense games like COD4. Civ is nice and relaxing, the hours can just melt away.
