You both have valid points but for all we know Sony could have lied about them losing 300 dollars on every system sold. Heck if they are as deceitful as I've seen some people claim than they could actually be losing very little or they could be making money. That is business after all, they make you think they are going broke then they turn around and take $100 off and turns out they were lieing the entire time. Now this is probally not true but is an idea , that's how businesses opperate.
Well i think Sony is trying to see if the price tag is working. If they fail at this pricetag they will lower it. If they lower the pricetag by $100 it will be a REAL challenge for the 360. A 20 GB PS3 vs. A 20 GB 360. That's the ultimate match up and then we would see things heat up alot. But I think that Sony realizes that they have to do something in order to keep things in motion. Personally I think it's what the PS3 needs to move them systems off the shelf. It's a good start to have a AAA game in the start of the year =). I will leave no fanboyish comments here, because I like both the PS3 and 360 , let's all be gamers and get along and quit mouthing each other.
You realize with Sales of the PS2 Sony could afford to bring the PS3's pricetag down. Early this year if the PS3 isnt doing well they will reduce the price. If the PS3 goes down to 400 it will outsell the 360 with ease. All Sony has to do is play their cards right. Microsoft had their year of greatness, but this year is most likely not gonna be their year. Halo 3 is gonna be a really good title, but most of the ppl who wanted that game already have a 360 therefore wont be much of a system sel...
The way I see it is, the Ps3 doesnt really have to succeed, the PS2 is still a PlayStation product therefore bringing alot of profit to Sony. It may kill all PS3's business but Sony is still taking some of the market.

you xbox fans should be happy that PlayStation fans could get a chance to play it on the PS3. I remember when GTA went to the Xbox, who cares about that, Xbox users get a chance to play an awesome game. Cant we all just get along?
No matter what anyone says it looks the same as 360's. I've played the 360's version and they look identical. For a port its not at all bad. We need to just get along. i've noticed that the first people who reply in PlayStation's section are the Xbox users. All I have to say is get a life and enjoy your systems like the rest of us. Same goes to PS users.
