...it's been "on the damned shelves" since Saturday. And it's been finished for way longer. Don't see why they can't start thinking about making a sequel; Halo 3's development began halfway through Halo 2's.
There's no street date though; I read the GameStop employee email. They said explicitly that due to the recall, there is no more street date and stores should begin selling it immediately.
All it takes is someone to upload the update data to a torrent site and BAM, their beta is a little bit bigger than they expected.
Why not? There was plenty of time to do that, you've only got yourself to blame. It's not hard to do, the $5 deposit goes toward the purchase price anyway...

The cutscenes were obviously rendered with the PS2's engine, like Chain of Memories. Ingame still looks like a DS title.

Philip that's pretty weak; they make it pretty clear when you preorder when it'll be in, and their computer calls you too. Titles like Dead Space aren't at the store a week ahead of time. You'll find most electronics stores that carry these games are like that. Best Buy does the same thing as does Circuit City. I'm sure they won't miss your business. Quit acting like you've been served a dish of injustice, because you haven't. You were never promised it today from Gamestop.
I don't get what the benefit is of closed theaters. The media gets to see it. Woo. What about the fanbase? Let's see something to get us psyched for the game. Bungie just announced Recon and gave us a nice teaser trailer. No doubt we'll get another in the next few months. Showing a hundred people a movie in a closed theater won't do anything for the rest of the people in the world except anger them that they're being left in the dark. Good job...? Got mine preordered and I can wait seven days... not worth the hassle, or the lack of online play.
Answer me this: HOW are you being ripped off by preordering? You're guaranteed a copy of the game... that's it. You put money down toward the game's purchase. I see no scam in that. If you're going to hate on Gamestop, at least have a good reason. New games is not where they make the money, it's used. And this is not used.
