Man, we just put together almost identical computers. The only difference is your motherboard is a step above mine, and my CPU is the 1090 (I wanted a black edition for easy OCing).
It's a brilliant machine that will play games flawlessly for years to come! I put mine together for around $600 CAD (although I reused a few parts from my old machine, case, OS, etc) and did the labour myself. It was a fun Saturday project.
Further evidence = same evidence.
The thing is that they have said for months that they would 'explore the possibility'.
Call me when there is actually something to talk about please.
I think the 550 is a bit over-priced. Not surprising since it just launched. I would probably spend an extra $20 more and get an AMD 6850 or spend a few dollars less and get a 5770. I know NVidia wants to compete at the $150 dollar range, but I think this card needs to come down a bit ($10-$20 to be competitive).
This article gets the award for being the millionth article claiming DIII on consoles based purely on a job posting on Blizzard's website.
Zzzzzzzz.
DLC has an effect on me. It causes me to wait until a GOTY edition (or something similar) comes out. Anyone who paid the $130 for all the DA:O content is a sucker. Patients allowed me to get it all for less than $25.
@Topshelfcheese - well we don't all have infinite money and need to decide what games we will buy and which ones we won't. It may be a narrow way to look at things, but I'm not throwing $50 or $60 bucks after something that isn't worth it. Nor do I have time to play every game ever made - so reviews are an important piece of deciding where I will spend my time/money and where I won't. Not the only piece, but certainly an important one.
Of course they did. Why does that mean anything? The ONLY thing that companies hype is what they are currently selling (or immediately about to sell)
Actually, the grammar is correct.
With mass nouns you use 'is' (graphics is a mass noun as it is abstract and uncountable) while count nouns (ie things that you can count) use 'are' in the plural form.
@gamingdroid - I never did understand the hate for Vista. I ran it for a few years before upgrading to 7 and while I love 7, I still don't think Vista is bad.
I especially couldn't handle people comparing it to Windows ME. ME was a piece of absolute crap - vista had some problems with slow adoption with drivers, but vista itself worked well and didn't crash/freeze, etc. Just a lot of hype and jump on the hating of MS bandwagon.
I believe they are trying to tell us "Wait and buy the ultimate edition and save yourself $200 in DLC"
It's really just one step away from forced sterilization. Something that comes in with good intentions but is horrifically evil.
Benjamin Button - the video game!
Same - I downloaded at work onto a jump drive to save my bandwidth at home. Thanks for posting this - although I was surprised to see it gave performance increase numbers for the 5xxx series and not the 6xxx series. Strange...
Seriously. The number of things that I have clicked on that have said 'New High-Res screenshots' that weren't new or high-res is astounding.
At least they were 1 for three though - they were in fact screenshots.
Yeah - not High-Res as claimed and hopefully not what it looks like on the PC! It looks OK there, but it is really jagged around the edges and it makes it look a bit painful.
JC2 is (as far as fun goes) what I had hoped GTA IV would have been. GTA IV was boring repetitive and just plain not fun. Just Cause 2 was a fantastic game that helped me forget the painful experience that was GTA IV.
Some people, maybe. Not everyone. I would also venture to say not even most people would go for free over legal. Some people on the other hand would go the free route even if the legal route only costs them a single cent.
I struggle to update every three years (due to the WAF) - but I finally upgraded my 8600 GTS and now am waiting for my CPU upgrade so I can fully utilize my new 6870. Every 2 - 3 years seems ideal unless you just keep going out and buying budget cards which are outdated within a year.
Oh man the PC version of Sacred 2 was a buggier than an ant hill. A lot of fun - when it worked.
People don't realize that in Canada, all the grading is as Panda described it. And it's not because we are special and it doesn't lead to grade inflation. Just ask my wife who moved to Canada for part of her BA and did a masters. Just because an A range is 20% instead of 10% doesn't mean it's any easier to get an A.
