If I'm looking big picture the devs are just as much yo blame. They didn't stand their ground and let publishers rush them into half baked games with 50% content and day 1 patched. So of course gamers aren't buying like they used to. Then compound that with higer costs. The companies still want more $ so cut the fat. If you see a problem and let it go... you become part of the problem. It screwed them long term
