I don't understand why people blame video games. They should blame religion instead, considering atheists have a lower divorce rate, lower abortion rate, lower crime rate, and lower teen pregnancy compared to religious groups. At least this way they would be able to support themselves with statistics.

How many of these lists do we need, really? (Nothing against you though, Lord Anubis)

Things like this happen all the time, it's called a shotgun suit. They name a lot of companies (or in the case of malpractice, people) that they want to sue and hope they manage to win a few.

Why do you deny that DVD is restricting developers? Even Rockstar said it themselves:

http://www.joystiq.com/2007...

And are you saying you wouldn't prefer GTA IV with better graphics even if it took more time to make?

And BTW, Ratchet and Clank is not a jaggy mess, I don't know what you were playing.

Well yeah, but they aren't going to say that.

Yeah, really I don't understand why they don't bring that up. It definitely improved the control of UT3, and it would do wonders for an RTS.

It's a trap!

You probably shouldn't talk condescendingly when you don't know what you are talking about. When a PC game installs, it's not just copying files onto a hard drive. It is also uncompressing files. For example, Crysis requires 12 GB of space on the hard drive to install.

The only reason PC games require you to have your disc in the drive is so that they know you actually own it.

Console games have to run the code and load the files of a game from the disc, which mea...

It could use less current than a regular fan, but you need to increase the voltage using a transformer to get the corona wind.

The thing they don't mention is what kind of power it requires. I've seen things like this before (once on Mythbusters), but they typically require very high voltage. I don't know if a laptop would be able to house the converter inside the case.

Jeez, why does every website that happens to have a place for video game reviews have to pop its head out of the cracks in the internet to review games like Turning Point, only to parrot what the other 20 reviews said, namely that the concept is cool but everything else sucks?

I imagine if Yahtzee had any bias against PS3, he would make it much more obvious (and probably funnier) than using different video game cases.

His review is similar to the many other reviews of this game, but I'm wondering why he chose to review a game that is obviously a rather generic FPS (based on other reviews, that is. I haven't played it myself.)

I'm glad it's more skill based. That means less grinding (or hopefully none at all) to get the interesting missions. I just hope the lag doesn't screw up the gunfights.

I'm pretty impressed. I think the voice control is innovative considering it reflects the situation it's trying to simulate, rather than just being a gimmick. However, the first time I heard about Endwar, I thought that you would be able to go into FPS mode, but maybe I just misread something.

I can make a PC eye-catching. Throw in a couple of multi-color fans with a window on the side, water-cooling with UV reactive dye, and one or two UV cold cathode tubes. By power supply cables are also UV reactive.

Stylish, maybe not.

Although I prefer Windows XP, any competition for Microsoft is good. I just wish Mac would stop showing ads about how PCs are no fun, considering their vast game library.

I agree, the puzzles weren't really good. I also think that it would've been better if the journal gave hints instead of solutions, but regardless, all of the puzzles were simply matching symbols, which isn't really puzzle solving.

Some interesting variants of symbol matching would be if rotating certain statues caused others to move as well, or if opening one door closed another, etc.

I appreciate the change in pace from the puzzles, but I think the platforming is ...

A conversion rate doesn't give you an exact representation of how much a game is worth. There can be big differences even with the same currency. For example, a $50,000 salary in California is worth a lot less than a $50,000 salary on the East Coast because of the cost of living. Then imagine how big the difference is across different currencies.

I liked the cover system, but I think the game could've been better if there was both more platforming and more of a mingling of platforming with gunfights. For example, have enemies shoot at you while trying to navigate different obstacles (like the waterfall and jeep part).

I have a feeling this author didn't play the game on Crushing, because then cover isn't so much of a safe retreat place as it is a temporary reload spot. There were some parts that were really difficult ...

I can see that happening, but how long will it take when Service Pack 1 isn't even out yet? And I don't see much of a reason to upgrade when it simply uses more resources and is less supported by drivers and software.

I've worked with Windows, Macs (for video editing and illustration), and Linux (and Cygwin), but I still prefer Windows because I know that practically every piece of software I need runs on Windows. Besides, speaking as a programmer, Visual Studio was made for Windows and is the industry standard compiler for C++.

I still only run Windows XP on my computers though, not Vista even though I can get the Business edition for free.
