360 does not look cheap, it's actually the best looking console of all 3 this gen in my opinion. Wii looks like an external DVD drive and the PS3 looks like like a George Foreman. I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
Yup, I hate that MS keeps a tight lip on upcoming games. They need to show their cards and get existing console owners and potential owners excited about the future.
6 years is too quickly? Considering the history of consoles is usually on a 5 year cycle before a new one is introduced I think this is more than enough. This is coming from a new console owner who didn't buy one at launch.
I agree that MS needs to be careful with not dropping support of the 360 like they did with the Xbox original.
Why would it be a huge mistake? If the disc is only used for 360 games than I don't see how it's a problem? The only down side I can see is that it would not play Blu-ray movies but even that could be worked in some way.
I just bought one so I hope they at least give me a couple years before they move on. I hope backwards compatibility is a priority or even possible on the new system.

The developers who make these games deserve to get paid for their work. If everybody thought like you did there would be no one making games for you to steal.

I finally picked me and my son up a 360 today!(PRO) I also bought the in store warranty with Best Buy so if it has a problem I can bring it in and they will swap it out for me at no charge.
Just unboxing it now and getting it setup.
I bought Mass Effect, Crackdown, Halo 3 and Gears of War. The game selection was overwhelming but I remember people mentioning how good these were.

My kid asked for a 360 and plays the Wii at a friends house. I did some looking into what the 360 offers for children and there is a lot for him. He won't be playing Gears of War 2 that's for dad.
There is a market for the Arcade out there because some people just aren't into gaming as much as you or I but the pro system is the one I'm buying. Then I plan to get a PS3 in February for the Blu-ray and some of the Sony exclusives.
Wasn't it announced that they are not doing a Gears of War 2 on the PC? I am picking up a 360 this week now that the price cut is official and you might be waiting a long time for that PC version.
Blu-ray is not going anywhere at least for another 5-10 years. People want an HD capable player to go along with all those HDtv's they are buying. The infrastructure for downloading this stuff in the kind of quality Blu-ray gives you just isn't there and it seems like ISP's are moving tword limiting bandwidth not increasing it.
Don't forget Fallout 3 and 8.1 the first Gears of War title was GOTY. So don't underestimate that IP.

OnTopic: Both of these RPG's look great. I disagree with the summary on this article however. "The Xbox 360 has traditionally been a bit weak in the Japanese role-playing game category." I think it's been the strongest console this gen in the Japanese RPG genre. One of the reasons I am buying one.
I am getting more interested in this game the more I hear and see it. Gametrailers had some gameplay footage and it looked really nice. It was on an airplane and reminded me of the CoD 4 level. The curving bullet mechanic looks like it could be fun.

Sony would be smart to package a stuff animal of that and have a clear box to where the kids can see it when they are shopping. It will give Webkins a run for its money.
Don't forget that piracy is running rampant on the 360 and is in crisis if you read some of the poor articles on N4G.
