I take issue with it when developers are compensated more if a certain aggregate score is hit. I take issue with it when it can influence sequels. I take issue with it when it influences peoples decision to buy the game or not.

I think the MOBA sentiment is a misconception. Sure, it has MOBA elements, but there's also a lot of Team Fortress and Borderlands mixed in as well - and that's just based on what we've seen thus far. I think the character variety and diverging skill trees are going to really set it apart.
Someone point this man in the direction of those reviews...
The reason for hate is justified when the content was cut as DLC. There's a trailer from a year ago showing the reef as a playable space.
With that said, I'm still looking forward to it. :D
But don't assume people have no reason to be a little upset - because they're well within their right when it comes to practices like this.
