TL,DR. Solid game. Not a gta clone per se, but definitely pays homage. I think the game gives off a gritty tone that's not to much of a task to bear. Mafia 3 is certainley a classic especially of you are an SP fan. 5-10 years ago this game would have been a 10 no doubt about it. How is that a spoiler people? The characters that you play aren't knights in shining armor, they're criminals. The characters themselves are antagonistic in nature. As the protagonist (character of choice) you can play the role of the antagonist (I.e kill everyone in the main story). Or choose to make one of the characters a protagonist (I.e. not kill everyone and go against the antagonistic character of your choice). I played it for about a round and turned it off. The characters were stiff as hell and the controls were very unresponsive. I absolutely loved 2009, but I haven't played it in almost a year. Maybe i'm a bit rusty, so i'll give 2010 the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully the responsiveness of the controls is turned up a bit before the final release.
I already got the scc theme, VR suit, mp7a1, infiltration mode, and the scar-h on the first day! I don't know what all the suprise is all about. The only thing you have to do is get like a head shot, silently kill someone, and beat the first level to get uplay credits. I earned 100 and got all the stuff.
I think it's funny when people complain about the story mode being only five hours. Five hours worth of STORY, not gameplay, is a butt load of entertainment. One could easily multiply GAMEPLAY hours by 10x if you take in to account that deniable ops can be played solo, and the main story can be replayed infinite number of ways. Don't take everything you read literally. I've played over five hours worth of the demo since it came out, and i'm still hooked! Jusr wait, even the crappiest splinter...
