It's annoying that they raised the price by $10, but lets face it... any fan of Starcraft will still pick up the game (including myself). Also, it's more than a 1/3 of the game. The multiplayer for the most part will be near complete with the exception of a few new units with the next two expansion packs of the game. The majority of people will buy the game for the multiplayer aspect.
Apple popularity is just a fad. It's decent hardware that's overpriced that somehow became popular. I'm hoping one day people will wise up.
Batman was a great game... but come on... Uncharted 2 is just amazing

Usually, salaried jobs are adjusted for cost of living in the geographic area. For example, starting salary for an auditor in the Chicago area is about 55-60k depending the company. If you travel a few hours outside of Chicago it drops to about 40k. Therefore, I would assume game developers located within major cities would adjust their compensation. Also, its supply and demand. If Starcraft 2 gets released this year then it will outsell Halo Reach. Not only will the game be popular in America and Europe, it will also sell like crazy in South Korea. I think Pachter is underestimating the user base of the PC platform.
Hell yea it'll be the #1 game. After playing the beta I have to say I'm truly impressed.
While consoles do receive more high profile games than the PC, I agree that the PC is better for gaming overall. The article is incorrect in some circumstances and forgets to mention few points. First, Macs aren't tougher to hack than PCs. There's less incentive to hack Macs due to their minority share in the market. Same here. I have an i7 and I haven't had any performance issues with the beta.
I feel like the game is more slow paced at the beginning. I think it's because each probe only gathers 5 crystal every cycle. I believe that in the original starcraft each probe gathered 7 or 8 crystal per cycle.
There are quite a bit of new units for each race. They definitely change how the battles play out. It's gonna take me some getting used to. Overall, the gameplay is better than the first. The slick new layout for bnet 2.0 is awesome too.
After playing the beta I have to say I'm very impressed. The game looks amazing and everything seems incredibly polished. Back to playing now.
Very rarely do I use something other than Steam to purchase a PC game. I think that the majority of PC gamers have some type of online distribution program. Typically, Steam and other online distribution programs offer much better prices that retailers.

Both are great games. But after finishing both I think that Uncharted 2 is better for a few reasons. Uncharted 2's single player is just epic and the multi-player keeps me coming back for more.

Try every year or two... not month or two. I will be getting this on PS3 even though my pc can play it maxed out. It just doesn't feel right playing GTA on a pc.
