This game looks awesome. Can't wait to play it!
I am a huge fan of the social game genre, but I have been really disappointed by how shallow most of the games are. As a result, I pretty much stopped playing them.
I have kept an eye on the genre in hopes that perhaps some serious game designers would enter the space, and perhaps this is a sign that at least one has.
I checked out this game Coin 'n Carry and so far it looks amazing.
The article itself does a good job explaining the basi...
Aha. So this is why I keep hearing the same guy in all these games... haha
Great review. I wonder if this can compete with Mafia Wars?
Mafia Wars is one of the few Facebook games that actually seems to have some real game design behind it.
Great guide!
This is an extremely interesting article. It really delves into the evolution of this gameplay element.
That was an excellent, very detailed review. I really appreciate the organization and balanced analysis.
Thank you!
I just started playing this game a few weeks ago and I am absolutely loving it. There is no reason to play badly balanced PvP games like WAR when awesome stuff like League of Legends is out there.
I never really got into Mafia Wars and Space Wars because those genres did not interest me very much. But this looks very promising.
Ugh. Guild politics. Just typing those two words gives me a shudder.
This is a great guide. I clicked on a few other articles by TJSonntag and her stuff is excellent.
Facebook games are really coming on strong as a major platform. I am always interested in reading reviews about them so I can help sort through them all.
Thanks!
I am a huge Roller Coaster tycoon fan. I am very interested to see how well this game stacks up compared to the full featured PC games of this type.
This is a tough issue. On the one hand, I'd go with private. If you paid for the game box, then you have a right to play the game. If the monthly subscription is for hosting, game dev events, and constant updates, well you should be able to choose not to pay for those.
But on the other hand, the monthly fee is a major part of what pays for the development of the game in the first place.
This is really the big question when it comes to online games for children. What sort of controls are in place? What sort of policing exists?
This always makes me nervous when deciding if I want to let my kids play one of these games. When I do, I try to watch them while they are playing, but I don't know if it is possible to watch them all the time.
LOL @ the breast enlarging.
My sentiments are similar. I love my Wii, but I wish I had some more great, non-party games for it.
I love the party games. Don't get me wrong. But I'd like some more hardcore games as well. If not in challenge, at least in the type of people they were designed for.
Yeah hitthegspot. Check out the game's actual web page (especially the religion section):
http://www.thresholdrpg.com
Then get on the game and get to know some of the players.
Required roleplaying attracts hot chicks!
Excellent review.
Thank you for sharing this.
This just goes to show there are great games out there that many of us have yet to learn about.
Love it.
great article!
