Maybe it is time for a game to be reviewed by someone who is a fan of the genre and another that wouldn't normally pick the game up.
Probably hard to do because if reviewing is your job you would play most games that come out.
I know there is a website that does give a second opinion but maybe this idea should be adopted more often.

I was in Game in the UK yesterday buying EOJ and while I was there they sold 2 PS3's and that was at 10 a.m. There is no doubt that the 360 has very good games but I do believe it has a niche market i.e. "hardcore" gamers who enjoy their FPS's more than any other type of game. The PS3 will attract a more varied type of gamer and therefore will probably sell more than the 360 eventually.
The price going down is a big help for Sony but I still feel it maybe a bit too ...

4 demos is a good show in my book and PES is not going to be radically different from what you have played before.

I was over at my chums who has a 46" Sony Bravia and altough some of the game looks great you definitely notice the jaggies and black lines round the border of some of the ships.
It probably doesn't look that bad on smaller tv's and when we plugged in my PS3 in to his tv and played motorstorm you definately notice more imperfections(I have a toshiba 32"). Halo probably isn't as bad on a smaller tv.

As a PS3 owner, even I can see that Halo3 is a game which needs to be played.
Anyone saying the graphics aren't the best to offer to maybe right but best next-gen graphics does not mean best gane ever.
Gameplay always wins out in the end and Halo3 has that in spades.
If you are not a FPS player then maybe you are not to bothered about it and hype can actually prevent people playing it.

I don't have the time/money for all the consoles so its just another game

I'm glad wii owners have got a quality game to play. I think their wait has been worse than PS3's.

People shouldn't get too upset over these scores because if you read the reviews they kind of make sense.
I do believe that both HS and Bioshock have suffered from overhype and you can sense that it in the reviews because they sometimes seem over critical.

I just own a PS3 at the moment but I think Halo3 is a good looking game.
Games do not have to look "realistic" to be good games. As long as you get immersed in the setting is the main point.
All games have different artistic qualities this is what gives a game its own uniqueness.
Halo3 will be remembered for its gameplay which is more important in my eyes. Great graphics is always a bonus and lets face it Halo3 doesn't look too shabby...

I reckon Bioshock is going to be game of the year but after reading the preview in Edge magazine Halo3 will give it a run for its money.

The Xbox versions have been better looking for 3-4 years now that's no surprise.
I play this game for its gameplay not its graphics and because I don't have an Xbox I'll by the PS3 version.
As much as a varied gamer that I like to be, PES is one of those games I love the most and have spent more hours playing these games than any other type of game (WoW might be up there as well). It was the reason I bought a PS2 before GTA, FF or RE.

I'm glad they've got the framerate locked at an acceptable level. I was
always sure the visuals would be fine but I really can't stand framerate
drops these days with "next-gen" consoles. I get annoyed with the multiplatform games for this. Its just lazy.
Anyways looking forward to this game and the other previews for HS and Uncharted are all very favorable as well.

There may be a 3/4 decent games in Spring but many of the big hitters like Killzone 2 and LBP will be in the Autumn.
