Again, legitimate Linux users were given a choice. Linux users that still wanted to retain PS3 functionality and Linux at the same time are the only ones screwed, but they could have easily just purchased a new PS3 to use just for games while retaining their Linux PS3.
Sure, that may seem unfair, but blame George and the others for screwing around with what should have not been screwed with. The hackers kept pushing and made PS3 Linux a liability with ...
In using ANY of Sony's own code in his custom firmware then yes he blatantly broke copyright law and it is VERY much illegal.
By utilizing Sony's keys to crack and modify Sony's PS3 firmware without Sony's consent, not only is he violating someones copyright, but he is also doing so with what could be considered stolen property (in this case stolen "intellectual" property in the form of the keys).
Now had George and the rest of the h...

Just thought I'd interject. The reason doctors and lawyers usually make quite a bit more than people in the computer field is because of the cost they sunk into their education in both time and money. Medical school and law school take much more time and money to complete than any run of the mill Computer Science or Engineering degree. Hell it's almost equivalent to getting a PHD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, which if put that way a person ...

Partitioning is still virtual. You have no physical control over how the hard drive "partitions" the physical disk. While you may think you have split a drive into three distinct chunks, for better allocation and access of data your drive may be slit into even more sections that are then linked together by address in the partition table.
RAID is a whole different animal, but for the most part the same, just with more physical disks. All this m...
People replying to Action Bastard about being able to get away with simply deleting files just don't really understand how hard drives really work.
Hard drives store information as magnetic 1s and 0s or positives and negatives. However, due to the physics involved that information on your hard drives is not a HARD 1 or 0, there can be faint differences in magnetic charge leaving a "ghost" of the data where it was written to. Overwriting the data doesn't make...

PS3 Games are completely region free. The only issue that arises is if you attempt to play PAL games in standard definition on NTSC TVs or vice versa as SD is different between NTSC and PAL. If you play games at 720P and up you should be fine, so import away.
PS3s are only region locked for PS1 and PS2 (old gen PS3 consoles) games.
Also, I wouldn't consider current CFW a mod, regardless of its intended use. Now if that CFW was ...
I noticed my goof. It was too late to edit anyways.
This is ultimately what this comes down to (based on the comments I've read): Anti-Aliasing or Sharp Textures
AA blurs an image to make edges look smoother and as a consequence it also blurs the textures. Depending on how much AA is applied and what AA algorithms are used this could be mild to extreme.
What is my ultimate point? AA is pointless at high resolutions and when the viewer is far enough away from the image were the human eye does its own anti-a...
Site was loading slow, but enough images loaded for me to decide. I picked the PS3 version for the reasons pointed out above...textures.
The 360 textures looked muddy and like you were playing through beer goggles.
In fairness, from the screens the PS3 version looked washed out, but this is usually the case of what capture device is used and whether Full Color was enabled or not. We don't know if Full Color was on, but regardless TV adjustment can fix the...
I believe the shortages are regional, in not in the sense of US and UK, but even closer like Northwest US or Southeast US for example.
I could not find PS3 Slims ANYWHERE in my local area nor from my usual online stores. However, I went to Sony Style (Sony's online store) and PS3 Slims ship in 24 hours. Low and behold the PS3 I ordered direct from Sony arrived in no time.
I believe two things are happening. (1) Sony is not supplying distribution channels fast enough ...
Being washed out can be attributed to Full RGB and Super White not being on. Most HDTVs now are essentially computer monitors with TV tuners, so go ahead and use Full RGB and stop looking at SDTV colors.
Like you though, who gives a hoot about this? Buy whatever version you like. I have the PS3 version because (1) I have a PS3, (2) I have a PSP (with Bloodlines BTW) and (3) I don't own a 360. If you have a 360 and no PS3, buy the 360 version. If you have no consoles, buy for PC. ...
Well if people want tits they could also play God of War.
What I always found funny is that people threw a huge fuss over Grand Theft Auto's prostitutes, sex, and the infamous hot-coffee mod, but God of War, which has more tits than a Playboy party, goes completely unnoticed. I guess people blew it off because it was Greek mythology, but it still seems like people have a double standard.
Exactly. This is the number one reason for broken tvs.
It doesn't take much at all to beat many of the Wii motion sensor games, Wii sports games especially.
Hell some guy made a robot with a robotic lego set to bowl a perfect 300 in Wii bowling by taking advantage of the method of the Wiimote's motion sensing.
I think they also make a helmet to put the Wiimote in so you can still play many games on your ass by just moving your head around. Quadriplegic g...
You know I think it is stupid that people are being childish about "Hey they stole their song".
I completely agree with 1.1. They should be allowed to use the same song.
It's Licensed freaking music people. Whoever pays the fees or owns the License can do whatever they damn well please. (Lolz, that was kind of poetic, huh?)
Dell XPS M1530

Personally, I can vouch & is better than Vista. I was running Vista Ultimate 64 and even with Service Pack 2, Windows 7 RC has been a far better experience. It runs faster, uses less memory, has a less annoying UAC, and Hibernation actually works.
Boot up times were damn fast on my machine until I installed Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 and UPEK Pr...

Like I said I'm indifferent. I respect your opinion though.
I have lost MANY saves in the past for games that I have put many hours of work into. Was I pissed? Hell, yes. But after going through it multiple times or getting 100%, I just say to myself "I came, I saw, I conquered."
One of my biggest losses was loosing a PS2 memory card with 5 months worth of playing through Silent Hill 3 and a perfect Siren completion. It was at least 150 to...
Out of that entire list the only ones I have are:
The Eye Of Judgment
Fat Princess
LocoRoco Cocoreccho!
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Whoop dee doo if I loose those. After loosing all my progress for Motorstorm + all the DLC because the save corrupted I don't care about loosing my saves any more; for anyone that doesn't know the last DLC pack released for MS was a biatch to beat.
Trophies are linked to the PSN ID and I would rather no...
Real life doesn't have a REWIND BUTTON.
Seriously!?
"Oops...didn't quite make that turn and wrecked into a wall. Hell, let's just rewind and try again."
Well Microsoft...Why don't we just rewind every horrible event in history and try again?
STUPIDEST FEATURE EVER! Racing sim my ass.
Seriously, this game is becoming Duke Nukem Forever.
The release date is either unannounced, gets pushed back, or becomes "When it is done.".
People, this game had been pushed since 2005! That's 4 years! Give up it is Vaporware just like DNF.
@Yi-Long
I freaking hate this damned car analogy. Let me correct this:
Modding your console and hacking the firmware is not akin to modifying your car. You must remember the software on your gaming hardware is being licensed to you to use. YOU DON'T OWN IT.
Hacking firmware with the car analogy is akin to you modifying your driver's license to show that you can drive vehicles you were never originally licensed to drive or creating a e...
