Authors facts are wrong - the ps2 was not "stripped" out of the North American/European launch models. Both the original 60 and 20 gb launch models have the emotion engines within. After the 20 and 60 gb were discontinued, the next version of ps3, the first 80gb model, used software emulation to run ps2 games. After that was discontinued, no ps3 model has been able to play ps2 games except the original launches and the first 80 gb model. Just thought it needed to be said.

Konami, the studio in control of Kojima Productions, told Kojima to make the next MGS a multiplatform game. Microsoft really pressed the issue with Konami - Microsoft is obviously quite bitter about not getting MGS4 (remember all that talk back in 06-07 from Microsoft Execs saying that MGS4 was definitely coming to Xbox 360? They did it quite often as I recall).

Anyway, if you remember from last year's E3, Kojima really had nothing good to say about Rising, actually everything...

So, remember how in Episode 1 Qui Gon Jin didn't disappear like all other light side Jedi do when they die (Obiwan, Yoda)? Wasn't this because Qui Gon was sort of an in between light and dark jedi? I remember in the movies he was always going against the council and Count Dooku was his master and I remember Dooku saying something in Episode 2 to Obiwan about how Qui Gon recognized that you had to understand the dark side to know the force.

Anway, because Starkiller didn't disapp...

to get released for ps3/psp eventually. I'm not really sure why they haven't yet. Sony owns LOD, just like spyro and crash, so you'd think LOD would've been out a long time ago as a PSOne classic. Maybe it takes more time due to the numerous discs of the game. Or maybe they have been holding it back for the PSPgo since it has alot of internal memory. Anyway, here's hoping to LOD sometime in the near future.

about Kojima more or less disowning MGS Rising, but don't be surprised if he has a change of heart and decides to make Rising the real MGS5. Forced by Konami to make the game or not, I can't see Kojima letting his franchise go to sh*t. I think Rising could very well become the next Metal Gear cannon game after MGS PW.

so I have to get it off my chest!

1) The individual story of MGS3 is by far the best in the series. If you disagree, you are blind, def, and dumb. Next to MGS1, the story is the most straight forward but has enough twists and revelations to keep it from being predictable. While the love story between Eva and Big Boss is not as powerful and "emotionally investing-worthy" as the love story between Solid Snake and Meryl, Big Boss' connection to The Boss and the final twi...

Ok, I rarely comment on N4G, but I had to for this article. This is horrible...just horrible. I only watched until the video got to the beach night scenes because the "analysis" is just stupid if existent at all.

Ok so the author first claims that the game takes place two years after MGS3...really guy? MGS3 takes place in 1964 and MGSPW is in 1974 - seems like 10 years to me. Second, he states that we know the shirtless guy on the beach is Big Boss by the snake lookin...

They need to add back some of the critical elements that made MGS2 and MGS3 so good but left out for MGS4. Like the ability to shoot out ceiling lights in MGS2 and being able to shoot soldiers in certain parts of the body which rendered that arm or leg useless. Remember shooting a soldier in the leg on the tanker deck and him limping away? OR how about shooting the portable radio with your dart gun so they can't call for back up?! Where was that in MGS4?!

Also, the whole eating...

If there is a MGS5 and if it is about Raiden, it'll be a prequel set between 2 and 4. Don't expect to play as ninja raiden too much - in mgs4, Raiden is really not very happy about his being a ninja and what has happened since then or about how he became the ninja which leads me to think...

The story could be about him coming to terms with the fact that he was manipulated in MGS2 by the Patriots system and then deciding to get revenge and save Olga's daughter. Somewhere along t...

All the ideas about it being a game for 360, DS, iPhone, iPod touch, etc. are good theories and all can be backed up in some way. However, what if it is actually the sequel to MGS: Portable Ops (meaning it's for PSP)?

If you search online for MGS: Portable Ops 2, you'll find a few articles from a year or so ago stating that Ashley Wood (the artist who created MGS:PO cutscenes) has already been contacted about MGS:PO 2 and had confirmed beginning some sort of work on it.
