I'm tired of hearing the numerous excuses. Anti-sony??? Stop the excuses already. This article makes alot of great points. MGS is NOT...I repeat NOT a Halo type game for Sony. GT and FF are the big heavy hitters that Sony has but those games will come out in 2009. MGS3 only sold about 3 million with a user base of 100 million. The ps2's biggest game was always GTA. But this gen the 360 gets it the same day as the ps3 and arguably the better version.

It's pretty easy to play pirated games on the PSP. That's why software doesn't sell.
Bluray all the way??? Actually standard dvd will still be king. Bluray will never have a long successful run like standard dvd. Bluray will just be another Lazer Disc.
I can bet that bluray will not have a long successful run like VHS or DVD. It will probably be like Lazer Discs. Digital Download is the future.

Actually you have to get on your bicyle and ride down to the nearest Best Buy or Blockbuster and pick up the movie and ride back. Maybe stop by 7-11 and pick up some cheetos with a cherry slurpee and than go home and thaaaaaaaaan pop a disc in your ps3. By than I would of already finished watching the movie that I downloaded. :)

Never heard somebody actually say Halo 3 is not a killer app. I mean all it did was shatter every gaming record in history. Was the #1 money maker in all of entertainment for 2007 beating out blockbuster movies Spiderman 3, Pirates, and Harry Potter. Halo Fever was taken the world by storm and newsstations like CNN had crews at various stores. Averaged a whopping 94% and praised by almost every gamesite/mag. Nearing 10 million sold.

Yeah you can replace it. You don't have to break it. But go ahead and call Best Buy Customer Service and tell them that you want to upgrade your 360 to the newer model and see what they say...just in case.

Yeah ever since the new open zone started up, I don't get all caught up in a heated useless debate like before. All the namecalling has pretty much disappeared. Now I can just have a normal debate.
I really don't see the ps3 matching a 360 price cut here in the states. This will again make the ps3 the cheapest bluray player on the market. What will that move do to all the other bluray players on the market? Surely they'll be a few pissed companies. What is that going to do...
That's not a good thing. I would like to know that every game I play that I'm on the same playing field as my opponent. If that person is using a keyboard/mouse setup and I'm using a controller than I'll most likely lose not because of skill but because of his control setup.

People have stopped going to stores for CD. Major stores like Tower Records have gone out of business because of digital downloads. The same will EVENTUALLY happen with movies.

Like people have already stated the 360 is ONLY having shortages in the US. So please try to find another stab at Microsoft because that one is false. No doubt this is great news for Microsoft since they were hoping for atleast a 20% increase. It's also pretty incredible since this is the time of year where gaming sales is at its lowest. This is nothing new. Developers prefer the 360 over the ps3. Better graphics and superior online functionality all with minimal effort only possible on the 360. Now the ps3 has shown to have pretty sexy games like Uncharted but that is still a rare gem on the ps3. Most games on the ps3 take triple the sources to create a game.
I think it's safe to say that this is how it will always be with multiplatform games. The majority of multiplatform games will always edge out the ps3...
Where does it say that Microsoft paid for this? It's just 21 days. Anything paid would probably mean months not days. This probably has to do with a technical problem with the ps3.
Like people have said....don't blame the developers, blame sony.
