Ya a few bad trends like pay-to-win microtransactions and RPG elements which turn enemies and immersion into bullet sponges and leveling. Yikes.
Imagine if this game came out and was good, had real mission design, a real social infrastructure, etc. they'd give it 26/10
Day One patch is huge and I think many outlets are trying out the max level "end game" loop of... 3 strongholds on repeat I guess.
The problem is EA rushed the game. It only had TWO years of development whereas Black Ops 4 had three years. EA also rushed both Battlefront games to tie-in with the release of Episodes 7 & 8.
No, they're getting crushed in sales, but they are doing the most (and best) job of prepping for the future, so could be VERY different story when next console releases.

Every triple-A game will either a) have its own service like Origin/Uplay/Battle.net, etc. or go to Epic over Steam. Meaning Steam will be indie focused and need to develop their own games again. And not the Artifact-style games.
