It's not FREE advertising, he's making a profit. It doesn't matter whether the content exploits Nintendo secrets or doesn't. You don't take someone else's product, make a profit off it and act like you're doing them a favour. That is not allowed.
In no other industry but this one are people so confused by the rules that have existed for decades.
I'm completely against the use of satire tags. They serve only one purpose and that's to safeguard the masses from their own stupidity.
I wonder if "multiple projects" implies one of them is not a game. It's already been suggested that Microsoft have big plans for Xbox Avatars and that's always been handled by Rare alongside Kinect content.
This is the common misconception about trademarks. There is no law or legal system that allows anyone to own exclusive use of a word. That's not what a trademark is.
A trademark is concerned with the brand, logo and industry. Anyone in the world can use the word Fallout in a product, but if your product is a video game, it's competing in the same industry as Zenimax's game and they have a right to ask you not to use that name. Likewise if your product is UNRELATED...
What effects, like tire smoke? Because that's the biggest omission I've noticed. The engine sounds aren't that great, but I might wait to see more before knocking it.
The track though is amazing.
@brish Funny, I thought I was the only one who made an effort to steer clear of Kotaku.
There are many valid points raised on both sounds of the argument, but this article is certainly biased towards the side of the users more than the developers and understandably, banning people for making inquiries will yield that kind of attitude, but still; These developers are on a fixed budget with a deadline and as the game nears release they have to enter 'crunch'. They're not trying to ruin the game because they don't care, they're trying to make the right calls bet...
I see high 60s to low 70's for this game.
What a pile of excrement. The one thing Gears excelled at above all other third person shooters released last gen was it's smooth, fluid and responsive gameplay that was designed to be competitive it's also the only thing that we HAVEN'T seen from The Order. The only thing it appears to excel at is visuals and you don't have to be a Gears fan to appreciate good visuals, nor do you have to be a hater to be critical of a notable lack of gameplay fidelity.
@DarkOcelet the Orange Box was released on consoles and it played quite comfortably with the controller.
Also, since Stalker, FPS games in general have seen a better quality of controller support across all platforms. That said, the Stalker series isn't really any standard for it's input experience. That game was awkward to play even with K&M.
If you're a PC gamer and you believe there's no room in your life for a controller on your PC, then you're games library must be tragically limited.
The Keyboard & Mouse vs Controller argument is irrelevant now. There is no single input device to rule them all, because not all games are suited to one kind of control method however, game design has advanced to the point where most game devs are able to make shooters that are comfortable to play with a controlle...
I don't get how this is bad. Microsoft gives out dev kits for free
^This.
People really need to learn what Research & Development means for hardware manufacturers and they'll understand Sony and Microsoft are doing the exact same thing too.
Look at those disagrees. What a pathetic community. This is one of the best comments I've read all year.
@Cindy-rella
If you see a stupid statement, don't respond by trying to up the ante.
Microsoft don't throw heaps of money at all the obstacles they face for the sake of it not because they don't have heaps of money, but because it's bad business sense and they are in fact a business and not a 90's prima donna pop star.
It's a well known fact that they are and have been in a healthier financial state than their competit...
Agreed with both of you. I don't want the universes or stories to cross over, but I could definitely enjoy a fun mash-up.
I'll be honest, if they added hordes of swarming zombies with the AI of Left 4 Dead but on the scale of Dead Rising so as to make the best use of BF's large maps, I certainly couldn't call that bland.
It is far fetched. If it turns out to be true, that's cool, but I wouldn't read so much into this tweet. Slow news day for these fools.
Agreed. I don't think there's any question that Street Fighter 2 was the true pioneer and biggest influence on the genre of it's time. The first Mortal Kombat can be credited for pioneering violence in video games.
Though I will say, I've found Netherealms Studios to be the biggest innovators of last gen. They tried with each game to bring something new to the genre that could still work on a competitive level and what they're doing with MK X is nothing sh...
They're seriously criticizing the pre and post race scenes for running at 30fps? That's a bit ridiculous.
