LOVE this game but after the whole GTA trilogy, I'll be waiting to see what the DF says about it. Also, seems like a missed opportunity not cleaning this up a bit for PS5 and getting it to a butter smooth 60 fps.

You're right. Lots of companies like Limited Run Games will keep the mission of preservation alive but it will be a niche scene until people realize that they are paying $70 for an access key.
I agree. This will likely see a physical release at some point. I will fight tooth and nail for every physical release this gen as I know its going to be last time we see physical releases offered.

I think it looks great and I'm sure it will do well. Still, it has to be said that I am a little sad that I won't be able to play it. The one thing that sort of rubs me the wrong way is the narrative that MS has been "building" this game. No, Bethesda has been building, or at the very least conceptualizing it for the better part of two decades. Xbox showed up and that is exactly what they needed after years of slumped showings. Overall, there are tons of great stuff on the horizon across every space. Why do we continually have to discuss the same things over and over. Who won this? Who won that? It won't matter in a month anyway....
The inspiration from the souls series is evident. I liked what I played and it is definitely on my radar. My only major issue is the movement, predominately the walk/run speed just feels off to me. It is awkwardly slow and the character seems to float.
Welcome to the modern gaming era. This stuff exists because there is a market and money keeps coming in. I think some of these cosmetics look amazing but I won't be spending that sort of cash on a skin...
I'm a bit worried as well. Fingers crossed they do it justice but they have dropped the ball in the past.

At a bare minimum, this should have been optimized for current gen hardware. Cleaned up and running at 4K/60.
