While the CRT monitors, do in fact use less energy when diplaying black, LCD displays are using more energy! That's because the natural colour for the LCD to be diplayed is white, anything other than that costs extra power- and black is most power consuming. Everything is relative, eh?
As said above, alt+f4 and it's back to your desktop in seconds (literally, on my machine about 3 secs :P)

Well, how old was GoW when released for the PC? It was still great, but gamers had chosen to play something else, as GoW hadn't been the only game on the market.
Yup, when it comes to money- being a pc gamer means putting quite a lot cash into it. But once you get a decent machine, you're going play games with good frame rates for about 1,5- 2 years. And I mean high quality setings. Of course- games like Crysis or (it seems like it) Assassins Creed are power-hungry, but you stil have the comfort of not having to rely on one hardware setup, being able to change diffrent parts. Finally, the Polish devs are beginnig to make their way up to the gamers hearts with some great games. Painkiller, Witcher, Xpand Rally... Just keep up the good work ;)
