I think most people are hanging up on the story-telling instead of the actual story. The presentation of that game made the story (whether you like Indiana Jones-esque storylines or not) a lot better than almost any other game I've played. It is legitimately comparable to blockbuster movies with no holds barred, I can't think of another game that is off the top of my head.

I will be very hard-pressed to buy their next game if they don't take martyrdom out of it. I can't believe WaW left it in, makes domination a complete mess. I don't see a single instance where it proves skill, having to simply run at the flag to guard it.

I'm sure they don't need to hear it but design the levels better than WaW; I know IW is much better at this but that game feels almost broken to me as there is no talent in any of those levels. Just a giant clusterF**K.

Shoehorning the blu-ray player based on the brand name Sony was indeed a fantastic idea. But counting from their past console (pushed DVD) would you really expect them to do anything else? It's not doubt that they were looking at future relevance when they made the console, instead of immediate gratification.

They've won the hi-def format contest. I do expect them to now focus more on the gaming sector, maybe not winning with the lead the other consoles have... but I would bet do...

Wow, well in all my life (launch owner of PS2, along with at least 30 people I've met since then). I've never even heard of this.

Twenty-five dollars in a class action suit doesn't really entail that the issue was as big as the now infamous RROD scenario. You can claim it's the internet launch proclaiming this as a bigger deal than it was back then, but the numbers shown from anyone will put Microsoft's blunder atop Sony's.

Even if that were so, I doubt that anyone w...

I'd like to know how you think GeOW and GeOW2 were created in that time frame. You do understand that Killzone 2 has created it's game engine right? Add the time in that Epic spent creating the UE and then talk about this stuff.

Nice "Holier than thou" post though.

Having played through all the older Fallouts along with this one recently (on PS3 and PC). I wept for you a little bit with that statement.

To think that you have the best version of Fallout without the ability to experience the extensive MOD community that follows the game is sacrilege. Wait a year or two and check back with the PC version, the stuff people will have done with it will be nuts.

And if it was as great as you said it was (I thought it was) then you can...

The amount of missed sarcasm on this site is hilarious ;)

I actually enjoyed the combat system, a lot more fluid being based on timing. There are enough button masher's out there for me. I mean, seriously, even trying to compete on button mashing with the God of War series is laughable.

It sounded to me like he admitted that. GeOW2 does the story mode better than R2, but he also claims that GeOW2 isn't the best shooter story mode out this year. I believe this is where he's placing the emphasis. Resistance 2 has one of the best multiplayer modes out there, for any shooting game.

So he's saying if you want to only play one, buy the one that pushes industry boundaries with what it did better, not the one that comes out on top in a direct comparison but falls short ...

Only satisfied by quick jabs and shiny objects FirstKnight?

Props on actually defending a stance with something other than pixel count and computer-analyzed frame-tearing. I love technical jargon, but most of this generation seems lost to a misconstrued view of what makes a game better.

I can't comment on R2, roommate bought it and I can't wait to play it. Only reason I haven't is because he's on the PS3 from the moment he's home until we head out at night. I believe...

Just thought I'd point out the fact that you, sir, have NO right (or is it write?) to be pointing out someone's grammar on the internet.

Let's edit your post so that your elitism can shine through on all things English and proper.

This is AWESOME. My roommate and I were creating a giant level and were getting very sick of the fact that it'd be deleted for the final game. So we promptly quit and instead were writing everything down and drawing it up in paint. Now we can start working so it'll be ready for the release date.

Plus, this is a pretty good tactic. Anyone that got into the beta and was learning to use the tools now has to lose their (sorry) crap levels and start again with a better knowledge bas...

Have you played online with many people yet?

I've been playing this game like crazy (thank you Eurogamer and a crapload of patience) and after making a few levels (published tomorrow if I get time to polish them up) I went to play with some online people.

My connection was absolutely pathetic, not sure if it was just because I'm in Canada on the Euro-beta or if my actual connection sucked. Have you had any lag-free run-throughs with other online players?

This may force more people to create levels. But I'm in agreement that the whole system will need some tweaking. I mean how can we know if a level made by some joe-shmoe is what we want to play? Maybe it's good for someone else, but after purchasing it it'll have game mechanics we dislike, or be harder than we want.

I'd rather they do a donation system, where when you finish a level it'll let you donate to the person if you think they deserve it. Then everyone that thinks they sh...

See above.

Any paragraph over 10 lines long is unbearable on the internet. Also, I know everyone wants to say grammar doesn't matter because it's the internet and you're just trying to get your word out. But the basics are still required, or any point you make is rendered arbitrary.

That's odd, I've had a ton of my divx files work with surround sound... though it's of no avail as I didn't encode them so I'm not sure how they were done.

Yeah, mine's in for repair right now. It stopped reading any disc media put into it. Just wondering if anyone else knows how long it should take to get back? I'm in Canada but just any time-frame would be good. I've heard somewhere between 2 weeks and 3 months so damn I'd miss out on a lot of good games coming out.

All the reports I've read as well as a ton of research and driving around looking at different ones showed me that there really isn't on a 42" TV. Cnet has a good guide for HD reading, but the best way is to go out and figure it out yourself.. just know that the sets at the store are usually set with crazy brightness and contrast levels... I'd ask for a remote and mess with settings.

If you own a 720p 1080i TV I would display it in 720... might just be something built into m...
