I think they're going with 4x MSAA so that they can render the hairs much better. Better aliasing means better alpha blends and translucency. It may also extend to other things that need alpha blending, such as fx.
Ha, the reason it's lost that cartoony style is that the cinematic was done by Blur studios and not insomniac. That cinematic was prerendered and not run in real time. The character models are as usual, up to par with most of Blur studios quality. The lighting, shaders, hair with simulation are not in game. I like seeing the Blur cinematics but it just makes me disappointed to see the final in game graphics as it never ever matches it. Just look at the Old republic trailers and how i...
they still look ugly
If you guys do a little bit of research, you'll find out that the lead character artist responsible for modeling Nathan Drake for Uncharted 1 and 2 is not with Naughty dog anymore. Just look up rich diamant...well here: http://www.rd3d.com/. It looks like he's moved on and taken up a lead character position at Blizzard. This is the guy who is modeling drake now: http://www....
sounds like a female ninja game.
It's not the best graphics on consoles as you guys are making it out to be. Just look at this picture:
http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/...
Can you guys see the flat engine texture under the trunk?
Second image looks like a tv on a table.
Personally, I'd like to see Ready at Dawn try their hand at this since they did a really good job with God of War Chains of Olympus.
...still look ugly. Come on man. They showed some nice concept art before. Why can't they make them look as nice as those.
Nough said
Because Capcom is actually a pretty good developer. Their artists are top notch. What's so mortal about this mortal combat if there's not fatalities and blood, at best it's just a bunch of dc characters and some mediocre characters duking it out.
...I'll be worried about my job because it's happened before. When EA bought Bioware and Pandemic for 800 million dollars, the money had to come from somewhere which resulted in EA shutting down EA Chicago and I think the other one was Mythic. It might not happen soon but will happen later when EA decides to buy another company.
Even with the first one. Why can't they make the characters look more like the cover of the game or at least get it close to the concepts that they released before. It's not a question of tech as the graphics themselves are not bad, it's the actual art that's not up to par. I have the same problem with oblivion. I want to try it out but the ugly looking characters just turn me off.
...but I seriously can't take any game reviews from a site called Canada.com. It actually sounds more like a travel site or something.
Basically, They're just taking the ps2 game, upressing the textures for the wii and xbox 360, maybe adding some bump maps ( or normal maps )for the 360 and that's it. Same content, same game. There's probably a few added content but generally it's the same game. It's really about Rockstar looking at their current IPs and seeing how much more they can milk them. If they were to change the polygon counts and make it next gen, then it would have been Ps3's loss. Since the Wii and 360 doesn'...
If you read the comments on that site, you'll find out that it's fake and somebody from gameinformer has debunked it.
But Marvel Ultimate Alliance isn't. Everything's just so aweful in that game.
So far, I like how you can climb just about anything in the environment. I'm still not sure with the combat. The attacks are still too deliberate and rather slow.
...and I don't even have a 360. A Ps3 that's it. But I guess what grabbed me the most was the graphics. I do somewhat agree, with what the guy is saying about the dialogue. I think it's because of the structure and how the dialogue is broken down so that you have the option of choosing a response ala choose your own adventure. I think it tends to break that ebb and flow of the conversation and thus the emotions are thrown out. It's like having a conversation with a computer.
You guys should do your research and see what this man has done. He actually modeled Ellie and Joel and all or most of the principal characters of the last of us. He also came up with the look of the clickers. He's a very talented guy. I'm not sure of the circumstances of his departure, but as a modeler myself, he is a very respected individual in our line of profession and is a great loss to the company.
