I can't imagine being one of those people who are so opposed to trying things outside their wheelhouse. When you go to a restaurant, do you always order the same thing? I enjoy trying new things, whether food, games, activities/hobbies. If I lose a little money on something that isn't great, so what? I'll make more money and it's definitely not the end of the world. If you get so bent out of shape at the thought of losing $25 on a bad game then maybe you need a higher pay...

Just ordered a digital PS5 from Sony! Perfect timing with this sale!

That's pretty sad. I buy as many games if not more than I did and I usually play more purchased games than Game Pass titles. I have 20 games in my cart right now!

You mean like VRR and 1440p support?

I'm an Xbox/Windows fan, but I think this is going a little too far. Gaming is turning into every other major consumer industry, everything is owned by a handful of large corporations.

Streaming games will never bring in more game pass customers than console/PC. Nobody wants to pay for a sub par experience. Sure some people try it if they are away from home or whatever, but nobody is playing an entire game via streaming. If MS went streaming only then they can say goodbye to than $15B Xbox revenue

MS won't give Sony or Nintendo a cut of the revenue. The only option would be streaming because the games have different code as well. Do you think a publisher would allow Microsoft to access 3 different versions of each game?

Stevivor is the website that takes an interview with Phil Spencer and breaks it down into a separate article for every response Spencer gives, enough said!

The devs are paid their salaries with game pass revenue. Games don't need to sell millions of copies when there is no 3rd party publisher in the mix. Storefronts also take 30% of revenue. So the devs only see a portion of the money.

A MS studio only needs to pay Valve a cut and they don't need to spend tons on advertising either because games are advertised on the Xbox store, website, and they also get mentioned on Twitter.

Let's say you ha...

I haven't bought a physical game in several years. If people like GP games, they can buy the digital version and get a discount.

You're comparing a Game Pass discount to Plus when you should be comparing Deals with Gold to Plus. Deals with Gold is a weekly discount with games discounted more than 10%.

I keep my expectations in check so I don't get as disappointed as some people. Slime Rancher 2 was a pleasant surprise

It's a rather boring game consisting of fetch quests and items that magically appear scattered around the map when you obtain the quest. Not only that, the description of the quest automatically gives you a hint to the location of the item, for example "I totally saw one behind a skull with horns".

Another thing I don't like is that items are randomly obtained. You dig up a dirt pile for a chance to get potatoes or coins, look inside a leaf pile for a ...

DLC has been around for years on PC before it was on Xbox.
"In 1997, Cavedog offered a new unit every month as free downloadable content for their real-time strategy computer game Total Annihilation.[1][10]". https://en.m.wikipedia.org/...

BTW Bethesda created that horse armor DLC, not MS. If you want to get down to it, Dreamcast actually was the first console that sup...

@Christopher
Your first comment has nothing to do with what I said in regards to Deep. His comment was talking about streaming only, to which I responded that you can still buy MS games. That part wasn't about anti-competitiveness.

As to your second comment, corporations often merge/acquire other companies and suffer losses. In addition, many companies such as Netflix and Roblox suffer losses that grow for years before they see profits. Business debt is nor...

@Deep
Let me tell YOU a story...
Many years before DLC, you could buy expansion packs that came on floppy discs for PCs.

Furthermore back in 1999,
"Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 was the first expansion pack released for the PlayStation. The game required the player to insert the London disc, remove it, insert the original Grand Theft Auto disc, remove it, then insert the London media again in order to play." 1154d ago 23 agree2 disagreeView comment
