The original PC games were great. I use to play them all the time. A mix between 3/4 view turn based rpg tactical shooter, with a Sim thrown in. You built a base, enhanced it, hired soldiers to fight the aliens, scientists to study the aliens and tech, engineers to build weapons, bought and developed different types of crafts, including armaments and fuel, and weapons. Radars and jets. And when you were successful, or too successful the Aliens would attack your bases. All while sticking to ...
No scenario? what the hell does that mean, AW has one of the deepest worlds in games today.
No Originality? as opposed to FPS, where the only thing that changes are graphics, and its either nazis, or aliens you shoot at.
Alan Wake is in the same vein of bioshock. Great Story! great Visuals! Good action, if different. Everything makes sense in the game.
AW is GAME OF THE YEAR material. More people needs to realise there are more games better games than online fps.

Alan Wake, Bioshock, Assassins Creed, Riddick, Fallout, Elders Scrolls, Silent hill. God of War. All great single player games. All different too.
There are too many online MP games, that all look and feel the same.
The focus on MP games more often than not neglects the story, without the story there is less of an attachment.
Though I am not a hardcore gamer, I am not a casual gamer either. I do have all 3 consoles, play the ps3 (mostly movies) and xbox (games) regularly. and aside from a handful of games on the wii, I would dump it, especially if I had the kinect.

I am more interesting in the tech possibilities of Natal, with time and experience, successes and failures, what the technology of Natal represents true growth and advancement in the tech world, like the Eyetoy before it.
RTS and SRPG, i think, can benefit greatly from Natal. Imagine, controlling and moving units with a flick of the wrist.

KOTOR1 was great, KOTOR2 as more of the same, but slighly less. lost interested in it about half way through. NWN2, was a joke. Hopefully New Vegas is good.

i think on the Average, most games are that appealing story- wise. and Jaffe knows this. I'm sure that he will admit that some games have better stories then others. But, presently, The majority of games are sports and FPS, multi-players games.

If I'm not watching bluray on my ps3, it does a good job of collecting dust. while i play fallout3(you know the un-glitchy version) fable 2 and gears of War on my 360.
my 360 that i had since launch, so you can forget about that 100% failure rate. mine is still working tiptop. unlike my ps3 which wants to keep changing my settings so i cant hear anything through my Surround sound.
