Sony's failures??? another stupid comment. Sony dominated the gaming industry for the last decade with their PS 1 and PS 2. And for the PS3 it has a slow start just like the 360 did at launch.

Uhm, just fyi, the 360 was in VERY short supply when it came out just like the wii is now. I dont think they had a slow start at launch. I had to wait 9 months just to even FIND a 360.
You pay at least 60 dollars for a 360 game and DVD's are cheaper.
My feelings are is that they made this HD player slightly more expensive than the 360 HD add on is so that Microsoft could say they have the cheapest entry price point for an HD player. And guess what- you need a 360 to play it on!
The only reason Nintendo went lower powered console in terms of graphics is to cut down on the cost of the system.
That Wii is next gen while I go play Ace Combat 6 Fires of Liberation.
