Precisely. Nintendo refuse to adapt, and while they sit on billions it won't progress them for another ten decades. They just fired 100+ employees and shut down two studios citing "budgetary limits". 11bn? Budget cuts? C'mon now.
It's fine to cater toward a younger demographic, but they have to realise they carry come clout and would benefit from becoming a primary player within the market instead of essentially leaving it to Sony.
That's a pretty cool concept. I've been tinkering with homebrew on my switch to enable OC modes on certain games and it's made a huge improvement.
@Seraphim - plus SMTV, a third party ATLUS exclusive that runs terribly.
They're a generation ahead because they were way behind in the last and again, they're behind technology-wise. You can demand quality, but it should be delivering quality from everything being published on the platform, not just first parties.
That's awesome! I love Odyssey, and I consider BOTW to be the best Zelda of all time, despite what enthusiasts say. I'm glad they still produce quality in first party titles, it's what keeps me attracted to their platform.
I agree. Nintendo have incredible first party properties that propel them. And yes, they have a problem that's become a little too egotistical and insulting. Doesn't mean that PlayStation or XBOX are any better, with the former having a boss in Jim Ryan, that poses a Public Relations' nightmare and XBOX without any strong first party juggernauts to lead the charge.
Read the article. It's not about graphics, it's about optimal performance of exclusives. Shin Megami Tensei V just released and runs like a turd on the unit.
Take an aspirin.
And that's a problem if they continue to license third parties.
You're welcome Sergeant Sarcasm.
100% with you.
Yes. Yes, they are.
I mean, that's fair. But would you oppose paying $10-$15 per month for titles like Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, Horizon etc upon release? There's a market gap right now within international audiences and pricing. In Australia we pay $120AUD per title. That is $92USD.
I agree. With Horizon Forbidden West & Zero Dawn as leading examples of this PS to PC initiative, there's not doubt that God of War is atop PlayStation's potential port list.
As much as I was tempted to put this on the list, I don't see Dreams as something viable in terms of PC gaming/indie development. PC gaming development is thriving with already existing tools available, some for free. This is coming from the guy who closed out the Worldwide Accolades commercial for Dreams; I just don't see it being popular for PC.
I love the idea of taking something that has an established legacy and returning to it after so many years to only pick it apart with a "what if?" motif applied. This is a dream scenario that I'm ultimately invested in, and they're demonstrating this, perfectly.
Again, it's a polarising way in interpreting this release. I'm within you in the way it's titled, but Remake does also apply. Remake could mean something of the same with some disproportionate or changed circumstances to it, just as a reimagining, or remaster would.
Sure is amazing.
So here's my opinion on MM. I think it's great, but it's not as groundbreaking as Ocarina of Time. It lifted its predecessor's foundations and made improvements, but butchered others. That's just how I see it. I respect other people's opinions on the game, but I still think it's not as impactful or fundamental as some other entries in the series.
