You must have just started gaming this gen. I remember buying games during the sega genesis days. You bought them not knowing if you'd ever be able to beat them, but that's how things were. Some of the games I had didn't get beaten till like a year or two after I'd purchased them. So with all the other things going on, you try once, if you fail, try again next time. Completely agree with you on KZ2. Now that game had a good story. It felt way more authentic to the type of game Killzone is than KZ3. I mean the series absolutely brutal, and KZ3 got more brutal, but the story got lighter? Didn't work.

Well since you're bringing it up, Killzone is not a 9, and because I happen to be an actual fan of the games and not just a Sony stripper pole connoisseur, I can even go as far as to say the most recent one is a 7. The single player story is just filler with the ending being borderline hilarious, but the game itself is awesome. Then we get to multiplayer...it's broken. Whatever good things I can say about the multiplayer are near negligible in the fact the multiplayer is straight up...
If it's money they want, make an FF7 remake and charge me 14.99 a month to play it. I will.
Well, I wouldn't necessarily say wait on Skyrim. Because I'm not made of money, and have to choose, I went with Dark Souls. If there was no Dark Souls, I'd buy Skyrim day one.
I just turned on the game, got into a match, fell through the map and was able to kill people from beneath the map. Hilarious, but understandably annoying.

Pixel_Pusher, I wasn't even looking at the PC shots. I was just talking about what I've played in the PS3 & 360 beta. Yeah looking at the PC shots from the site article, those are really hard to believe. Yours look much closer to what I'd expect from the PC version.

I must say this is the game I'm looking forward to the most this holiday season. It was a tough decision to put skyrim on the back burner.
Yep that's how I feel too. The gameplay is awesome, but this beta looks gross...like worse than 90% of FPSs released this gen gross.

If we're talking straight visuals, all the above mentioned games look better than this beta, and the one that stands out is Resistance...a launch title looks better than this. Now when I say I can see that it's a PC game, what I mean is if the PC version supports 64 players, the game is going to feel a whole lot more like MAG, KZ2/3, and Resistance ...
Man other games are doing the same amount but allocating those resources elsewhere. Easy example: KZ3
What KZ3 lacks in destruction and vehicles is made up in sheer detail. I have yet to play another shooter with as much detail jam packed into a map. One friends came from COD and started playing the game and had trouble at first because there was so much s**t in the map. I had to make the same adjustment when I played KZ2.
