The last sentence should have read: "This is what the Wii should have been like from the start."
Wasn't Nintendo breaking even at launch? I thought they would be making more than $6 by now since cost-reduction measures in the production lines coupled with a stable price point should have increased profits.
But still, profit on hardware AND software this generation with the best-selling console shows how Ninty made a great business move.
Great deal, too bad it's US only.
Even being a sandbox open world game doesn't automatically add anything to the main story. Sure you could go around exploring the city but that doesn't add as much to the value as a fleshed out story. Not to mention potential low scores from critical reviewers because of a "shallow story" or something similar. If it's anything in length like a smaller scale Oblivion then I'd be happy.
Avira is blocking the site, states it detected HTML/Infected.WebPage.Gen malware. Is the site using IFrames or scripts for the ads?
I'm really excited about the future possibilities of the Killzone 2 engine. I'm hoping it can be some kind of UT3 engine equivalent for the PS3. With the extensive development time of KZ2 it would help Sony earn back some of the costs if they can use it amongst its 1st party development teams.
Giving the PS3 such a powerful engine would take away some of the negative comments about the PS3 being hard to develop for. Though I suppose it's still not a solution for lazy 3rd party de...
Is there any way to change the color theme on the site? Could be a combination of ClearType and the white on blue, but it bleeds out and really hurts my eyes.
Good idea nonetheless, re-reviewing a game when most of the issues have been fixed. Especially for a multiplayer game with server issues like Confrontation. Hopefully more sites will do the same.
I think the review is quite clear as to why it got an 8, stating problematic physics and handling as well as more competition from similar games (from what I've seen of Pure these two games seem a lot alike).
Also the reviews for Motorstorm 1 and 2 were made by different reviewers so a direct score comparison between them doesn't work.
Motorstorm 1 was a new IP on a new console, the sequel improves on that concept and I'm sure players enjoying the first game will lov...
Not sure you can just start modifying a song and remove certain parts as you see fit. I think Sony only has a license to put it on the soundtrack, they could probably get in a lot of trouble if they start changing someones copyrighted work.
A link to a newspost referring to the average Metacritic score for a game ten days before the release is newsworthy?
Links to LBP reviews I understand and welcome, it's clearly a popular game. But a (soon very outdated) newspost referring to Metacritic when all the major sites havn't even reviewed the game yet makes no sense.
This score could change quite drastically when more reviews pour in closer to release.
As a contrast MGS4 is at 94% with 77 review...
Good way to get noticed as a level creator by playing on the fanboy war. I bet his next level will get a lot of attention no matter what it contains.
About PS3 exclusives going multiformat and not the other way around. I think it's a blend of system architecture, developer tools and user base. The 360 has a PC-like architecture, great developer tools and had a huge lead in user base (with good attach-rate) before the PS3 price cuts. So game studios probably had it relatively easy grasping the 360 hardware and could smell the money from the Xbox camp.
I like the art direction. It's the first I've seen about the game, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it from now on.
Also the voluptuous woman intrigues me.
I fully agree with you. Co-op tying in with the single player experience is a great feature, whether it's offline or online.
The only info submitted was MFR date and LOT number for a 360 Arcade, hardly proof of Jasper.
Didn't Sony state that their deal with Rockstar was for a new IP?
So no GTA game.
Supply (in certain EU countries at least) has been low for a while now. A lot of online retailers have been out of stock with no knowledge of new PS3 shipment dates.
So either the 40GB PS3 is really selling well (which it appears to do given the June numbers) and/or distributors and retailers have been keeping too low a low stock for quite some time awaiting the new model.
In the end it's nice to see the PS3 getting good sales numbers, I wouldn't mind a 50/50 market ...
Not sure if it will really "affect buyer's decisions", but it is constantly occupying 1 of the 2 USB slots on the 40GB and new 80GB models. This leaves only 1 slot free for everything else (charging, EyeToy, ... ). With constantly connected accessories, such as PlayTV and EyeToy, having rear USB ports would be a good idea.
Thankfully you can easily plug in any USB hub to the PS3 and the problem is solved (there are a couple discrete and aesthetically appealing ones), th...
First paragraph of the article: "Here are the top five system-selling games on the Nintendo Wii"
So yeah sales matters, in fact it's the only thing that matters in this article.
