I played the first Red Steel for a few minutes, and wasn't really impressed. The inclusion of the MotionPlus should make it a lot better to control and, hopefully, more interesting. Maybe I'll convice a friend to buy it to try it myself. XD
... Yet Nintendo has proved since the Wii's release that there is a market (a very big one, by the way) for simple games with simple motion controls.
This would leave Microsoft competing directly with Nintendo and its big market share, while leaving Sony to try and lure hardcore gamers who are into motion controls with the slightly more complete/complex PS Move.
I'm not a fan of sandbox games (I too believe the genre has been abused), but the first game was kind of fun. I'll wait for the reviews to see if it's a buy or a rental.
With FF XIII, Resonance of Fate, 3D Dot Game Heroes and many other RPGs coming out in 2010, I really don't think BD:AS is RPG of the Year material.
