I have both a PS3 and 360 now. I will get both consoles, but just like I did before, I will buy one at launch and the other after several price drops. I know that 50% more graphical power sounds like a lot, but in reality, it is getting harder and harder to see a difference every time the graphics power doubles. Hence, I really don't think the two will look that much different. I am kinda leaning toward the Xbox One, simply because I think that in the end I will use it a lot more. It...

You make a good argument, but you missed my primary point- Product differentiation is a good thing. If the rumors are true, then Xbox will be a great product for people that have Internet and can afford to buy new games. That's good because it opens a market for another console to target people that don't have great Internet and can't afford new games. It's like the car market-, it wouldn't be good if every car was a four door sedan. Personally...

I don't see how this DRM strategy is a bad thing for gamers or MS. Think about it:

1) Gamers that buy mod chips or used games don't return profits to game makers or MS. Why should MS or developers care about loosing this market segment. It's better for MS if this segment just buys a Sony console, mods it and buys used games. This way MS doesn't loose money on the console.

2) Gamers that can afford Internet can afford new games. Why would...

Pachter is probably the worst analyst and forecasters for console gaming. I don't know why everyone gives him so much attention.

Ironically, I agree with him on this. Wii U is not going to fair so well. I think their problems are that their target market is parents of kids. Right now, the economy sucks and parents aren't interested in paying that much for what looks like minor upgrade in specs with a controller that looks like it will break the first time a kid dr...

Haven't you learned by now that epic news on natal is someone playing the red ball game? Probably the Frag Dolls this time. I can wait to see someone else playing the red ball game and have them talk about how cool it was. I am so excited that I won't be able to sleep tonight.

I suppose I represent the casual game segment, but I don't like being labeled that. I work, I have a family and I have the money to buy it. I am short on time to play. When it comes down to it, I want to the get most fund for my buck in the limited time I have. I am kinda loyal to the 360, but I used to be loyal to PS. At $150, I can put my money towards a PS3 and open up that new experience. That sounds like more fun for the dollar than hitting red balls. Really, it comes down to ...

I own an XBOX 360. I kinda feel loyal to it, but I mainly am loyal to my friends that all play on live. I havebecome more and more compelled to by a PS3 as the games roll out and I have to pay $50 every year for online. I am just as interested in the PS3 move and eye toy (mainly that little monkey game for my kids). If I bought natal, I'd only be doing it for the family. Like the Wii, it looks like a fun, but short lived experience.

Really, it comes down to if or ...

It's still too soon to tell. I am a big M$ fan, and I know they don't have it in the bag yet. Nintendo threw a big curve ball in my predictions. However, one thing to consider about the Wii is that it is opening up a new market. Most of those sales wouldn't have happened but for the Wii controller appealing to mothers and non-gamers. That could actually be good for M$ and Sony, because now Nintendo really isn't competing anymore for the same market. Gamers don't really see Nintendo as a viabl...

I think you are on to something here. Have you or anyone else noticed that the PS3 videos of gameplay have a wierd blur effect whenever things get to complex on the screen? You could just call it motion blur, but motion blur should only occur on things close to you moving fast, like the dirt and such- not the mountains. I think it is a shoddy way to compensate for the GPU's lake of ability to keep up with the cell. I am a patent attorney, not a Electrical Engineer, so this is just a guess...

I am a big xbox fan, but I gotta say, GT looks sooo much better. It's not just the cars. It almost looks like PS3 is using photos and overlaying them on polygons. Also, look a the roads. Every inch looks better on GT. Also, the terain on GT looks seemless.

However, on the PS3 has anyone else noticed that they heavily use motion blur whenever there is quick movements on the screen? I think it is some technique to avoid a drop in framerate. It definately looks better than a drop...

Here it is. The moment of truth. I have been waiting forever to see if Sony has anything better to offer. I am excited. Personally, I hope Sony suprizes us. Unfortunately Sony never surpized us with something better. They always deliver half of what they promise. Maybe I should just buy my 360 now instead of waiting to see what Sony puts out.

I guess it shouldn't matter, cause Sony's never going to have Halo.

And now Sony has screwed the people that really matter - the people with money. I am an Xbox fan and once saw Sony as a rival. Now I see Sony as the underdog and I actually feel sorry for them.

"My advise to Sony: Spend your money on getting your dual-layered discs working before advertising about theoretical four-layered discs. Stop the hype and let the product speak for itself. We are waiting patiently...but not forever, because there is another guy in town, and he actually delivers on his promises."

The arrogance of Sony is amazing to me. What amazes me even more is that Sony fans take the crap, swollow it, and say "mmmmmm, that was good Sony, can I have some more?" How can you not be offended when Ken makes statements like Sony can sell millions of systems regardless of what we deliver. He is calling you mindless sheep. Funky Town is right on here. Sony fans would buy empty cases at $600. It's pathetic.

Sony played this game with the PS2 and dreamcast, if...

It is really beginnig to "look/sound" bad. What is really telling is that comment boards like this or others which would generally be ripe with Sony fanboys defending all things Sony are actually the opposite. It does sound like Sony has begun plunging the blade into their own gut. The comments have gone from hatred of Sony to what seems to be pity for Sony. This is not like Kodak getting hammered by technological changes this is just Sony being arrogant and thinking they can do no ...

Assns Creed is basically saying "We don't think a PS3 exclusive deal can pay out anymore because Sony is not going to sell enough systems and Sony can't give us enough buckets of money."

It appears that MS is the only company that can convince others to go exclusive now because they have two things - Buckets of money and sold systems. Nice job MS.

American Sony fans- It's time to be a real American and join the MS fans. haha.
