I'm actually trying to say that forcing the player to take their eyes off the screen would add to the experience; removing the ability to pause adds a "Dark Souls"-esque level of insecurity, while creating the kind of tension and atmosphere that would fit nicely into the post-apocalyptic wasteland: you can't leisurely move through menus, you have to consider the landscape, evaluate the threat level, and act accordingly.

Nobody in their right minds would publish a PS3 game that would rely on the player both owning and having at hand a PS Vita. Yes, it's a function some developers will take advantage of, but developers can't trust every player to own both a PS3 and a PS Vita - but with Wii U games, all developers will know that the player has a tablet controller.

They backtracked right after they said that and clarified that it didn't mean Episode 3 wasn't happening, it just meant it wasn't something they were going to try out again. I see this brought up so often in discussion about Half-Life 3, but Valve themselves have already clarified that it doesn't affect existing episodic franchises.

It'll be there for launch day, but not for launch - Amazon customers will get their copies up to sixteen hours later than those who buy the game from Steam, a high-street retailer's midnight opening, or some competing online retailers.

So far, games announcements for the NGP haven't actually been that promising. A huge number of games have already been announced and confirmed for the 3DS, whereas nowhere near the same number or quality have been announced for the NGP. A lot of the major PS3 developers are not currently working on the NGP, and some of them have announced that they have no intention of changing this in the future.

Plus, console games are not necessarily well suited to a hand-held. You'...

Actually, the 3DS is equally, if not more, powerful compared to the first PlayStation Portable. Unfortunately, visual fidelity is hampered by the fact each frame must be rendered twice for the stereoscopic 3D effect. However, in scenes where there is no 3D, or the developer chooses not to use 3D, the visuals far exceed the first PSP.

I wasn’t actually aware of the history of Child’s Play, so thanks for the explanation. I’m really surprised by the poor manner in which games censorship and legislature has been handled; the fact that people like Bill France know so little about games and gamers stands testament to the fact that there’s a lot of misinformation out there. The guys at Penny Arcade have done a fantastic thing in creating their charity, and I’m planning on making a donation tomorrow.

Well, we've got new weapons, that's a plus. And I suppose there are some gameplay changes, while not necessarily new gameplay. But I wouldn't expect any new gameplay or areas this early post-release. Give it time.

Way to recycle the press release as an article, Electronic Theatre. Stay classy.

Fucking magnets, how do they work?

Except for all the already announced titles that aren't "old ports", right? And you can't call 3D a gimmick in Sony's defense after they pumped all that R&D cash into 3D on PS3.

@Dno: Well, actually, you're kinda wrong there. Remember how the N64 had much better graphics than the PS1? And how many graphics stress tests showed the GameCube was more powerful than the PS2?

You're basing your conclusion on one generation, and from what we've seen of the 3DS so far, it's looking to be a powerful, innovative system.

Previous articles about how the PSP2 graphics are close to 360 and PS3 are just rumours - and I've heard just as many rumours stating the same for the 3DS.

Don't know why there's all the badmouthing, thought it was a perfectly justified review despite the fact I haven't played the game and formed my own opinions yet.

I didn't play it for long, but I loved what I played. And the cutscenes, I must say, are gorgeous.

Really unoriginal name, but I've gotta say, Lenovo's laptops last, so maybe this'll do well.

Boy am I glad to see that Kane & Lynch aren't on this list.

So the fact we handled the Move controller, calibrated it, played three Start the Party mini-games (and played those three twice), and one Sports Champions mini-game is poor in your opinion? Considering it's a hands-on for Move, and not those specific games?

Agreed. It kind of depends on the genre of RPG as well - Japan puts out a lot of fantasy RPGs and the West puts out more sci-fi (I know Japan does sci-fi too, but not nearly as much).

"My favorite usage is when games let you target two enemies at a time"

I can't immediately think of any game that has that, any help?
