From MSN to XBOX, bad customer service has always been a downfall for Microsoft. I am not at all surprised by the idiocy displayed by customer service representatives in this story since most of them on the line don't speak or understand English very well. Anyone who has been exposed to 8004MYXBOX knows all too well that first you have to hear a robot, then a foreigner, and if luck is one your side an American. Just pathetic!
Big F*cking deal about the RROD. All that matters to me is that if my system were to implode, Microsoft will repair or replace my system-free of charge-three years after purchase. I leave the rest to fate. Peace out!
Instead, I went to city-journal.org where her article is listed at the top of the homepage. I clicked on the article and replied via the link titled 'respond to article.' If emailing her doesn't work for you try this method.
If you disagree with my point that this story is sad, I would sure like to hear your reasoning!
Dear Ms. Hymowitz,
You are a most likely a 40 something with two children, divorced, and for a part time job, to make ends meet while you wait for the child support check, you write meaningless crap-with permission from your editor because it might sell subscriptions-to satisfy that deep down hatred in your soul for a messed up childhood, lost love, and the man who spurned you for a better relationship. Instead of cooking for your ex-husband, you brought home Burger King or KF...
SAD!!!
Since gamers pay for the service of XBOX Live, Microsoft should do a better job of policing the site and removing gamers who fail to follow the rules. If they continue to do a shoddy job of weeding out the bad crowd after they have been reported, then I see another lawsuit on their hands.
Lastly, racism will only persist if there is a crowd for it. Since misery loves company I am sure that, as there are those of you who abhor the racist taunts of juveniles and adults, there ...
1. Provide some customer service, with adequate training, that is both professional in nature with knowledge of the games they sell.
2. Improve trade-in values, keep pricing consistent, and reward frequent buyers and sellers. If the customer trades a game with a trade-in value of $3, I don't think it is fair or justifiable to put that same, used game on the shelf for $20-30, especially when the game is scratched, without a manual or the extras that would normally come with t...
It was the most beautiful sex scene between a man and woman in the virtual world; shot with respect for the woman. Make love not war!
Maybe I am one of the fortunate ones who have not been doomed by the RROD (knock on wood) but I did have a disk drive problem where it would stick. After calling Microsoft, they promptly sent me a box and I shipped it out for repair. I had the console back within two weeks and a free month of Live Gold. Fortunately for me, they didn't repair the console. Instead I received a new console and haven't had any problems with it at all.
What does this have to do with this articl...
McCullogh, the author of the article, explicitly mentions at the conclusion that he will gain some notoriety for pissing the gaming community off with his "profound" comments. However, I can't disagree more with him. Sounds to me as though he has been shut up and censored for his remarks. I hope these dumb journalists will get a clue for once and stop fu(king with the gaming community because we will not remain silent .
I was very amused by that video. I hope to be just as amused playing grifball!
Congrats Activision!! I've really enjoyed playing COD4. Haven't played Guitar Hero 3 but really enjoy playing Guitar Hero 2.
This has been a great series for driving fans (like myself), with entertaining gameplay and hours of fun from each edition. I haven't enjoyed the soundtracks much, though, so I hope Criterion put something in this game to listen to. Nevertheless, can't wait to pick this one up and play online. See you there!

I don't care which console is winning the money war. I don't care who wins the blu-ray/HD DVD war. I don't care whose mother is better looking. Can't we all just get along and play our video games without having to be sucked into this day-in day-out clammoring of winners and losers by the gaming industry, only to be fueled by a bunch of people on this website that have nothing better to do in their day than subjugate us all with their so-called intellectual mantras. Play your games, play ...
that after writing this pointless article, the author was on MySpace trying to lure little boys and girls to have cybersex with him. What a pervert! Chris Hanson should have this guy on speed-dial.
What new can the franchise improve upon if they regress back to the WW2? I suppose I will just keep playing COD4 until COD6 comes out (that's assuming the franchise goes forward to modern warfare instead of back to throwing sticks and stones).
and when they stop making HD DVDs, it will make a great coaster for my beerstein.
The writer of this article is a moron. He probably lives in his parent's basement and plays guitar hero better than his acoustic. What a loser!
