Huh. As the author of the piece and a huge fan of both Metal Gear Solid 3 and James Bond, I thought I was paying it a compliment. Oh, and there's always that thing about the cinematics, storyline and characters being pretty clearly inspired by Bond stories.
You are missing something as well, however. The issue has nothing to do with not being logged in to the Live Silver account. It's a matter of the Passport account, a completely irrelevant and useless account for people who have no interest in anything but their Live service. It's piggybacked on to Live in a terrible way and if that goes by the wayside because of 90 days of inactivity, you could be screwed.
Where the hardware issues are concerned, I've never had a problem with their customer support. Out-of-warranty repairs may be a different story, but my experience with them repairing a faulty disc drive went very smoothly.

Ghostbusters is still being made. The whole rumor is because of an oversight.
You do if you're a paid professional who plays and reviews games for a living. Or, at least, you should if that's what the game calls for in order to see as much as you can to render a judgment. Even if I didn't enjoy playing Dark Souls (I did), it's my job to play it and the score a review will eventually receive has nothing to do with how long I choose to do that.
