CNet is one of the most respected names in the industry. If you want fawning reviews of someone's favorite prodcuts go somewhere else.

If you want honest, neutral, smart, reality-based hardware reveiws -- goto Cnet.

They've been doing this for 30 year -- their reputation is pristine.

It is not that bad "on consoles". It is only that bad on the PS3. The Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE can detect cheats.

As a result there is virtually no cheating on the Xbox 360 nor Xbox LIVE.

"Fat Princess debacle. Some reviewers have given it a low score, hasn't stopped gamers from enjoying it."

That's really odd. Because the problem is that you cant play the game because of the technical problems.

Where exactly did they get their data?

We know that Xbox 360 is the only console with a *year over year* increase in 2009.

We know that the PS3 has had a *year over year decrease*.

This data is -- AND CONCLUSIONS -- are totally suspect.

"Everyone is doing bad"

PS3 sales decline Year over Year.
Xbox 360 sales *increase* Year over Year.

Dont try and explain, excuse or dodge-that-away. The fact remains: The PS3 is an absolute failure, and it's costing Sony dearly.

It seems that the Devs have done *a lot* to bring new MP gameplay. I'll be buying this title, the graphics are great, it has Avatar support, it has a level-editor -- a lot of value here.

Madballs in Babo:Invasion FTW.

I dont think paying for this stuff is that big-a-deal, its only like $2-4.. no big deal.

I'd think that you'll see this kind of stuff end up as Awardables (props too).

I may be tempted to pay $2-4 for a Halo ODST suit...

What? Show us *ONE PLACE* where they said "halo 3 will be our last halo game on Xbox 360".

They have *never* said that -- you're a fcuking liar. Shut up.

Right. because no one could ever want a inexpensive Xbox LIVE Golf Game with Avatar support. I'm pretty sure it will sell *VERY* well. Please, dont sound silly.

My thoughts?

This looks like the XNA Community Game Easy Golf.

No. BR is a niche product for high-end households and audio/video-philes.

It will *NEVER* see the wide-spread uptake that DVD has (for many reasons often discussed).

Finland is probably ahead-of-the-curve on high-speed net-to-the-home, as such, they've probably done what the rest of the planet's mass market is doing: Digital Download.

Netflix, Kindle, itunes/ipod, Xbox 360 Marketplace, Zune etc etc etc etc -- these are the current solution for the...

The division is more than just Xbox 360.

AND, sales are up 35% year-over-year.

So, their's a great chance the losses are non-Xbox 360 related.

Dave Shippy, Lead Designer at IBM behind both CPUs said the Xbox 360 and PS3 are "fairly equal".

Time to stop pretending otherwise.

Vista had many behind-the-scenes changes over XP. New Networking, new Video, new audio and all manner of architecture changes.

The "Problems" vista had were vendor's not updating their drivers. At one time, something like 2/3rd of all vista crashes (reported to MS) were a result of Nvidia video drivers alone(!) -- MS released this info, and nvidia quickly got their stuff up-to-speed.

Windows 7 is a more "user experience" scale update -- the ...

"too many issues as a company to support"

That's why I wont buy Sony products.

They are members of RIAA.
They are members of MPAA.
They install rootkits on audio CDs.
They didnt do *ANYTHING* to take care of PS2 owners with hardware failrues (i had 3 failed PS2s).
They are 100% committed to prevent interoperability; proprietary vendor lock-in is their behaviour at every opportunity.
They spent hundreds-of-millions in b...

Yeah, most (just check the boxes @ the shops) will have the "Free upgrade on W7 release".

I've preordered 3 copies for my home machines. I've been running on W7 RC on all of them already, its a fantastic OS - it's going to be widely adopted, very quickly.

And you have *NO IDEA* what you sound like.

1080p is 1080p. Zune video on Xbox LIVE will stream -- instant on -- 1080p video.

Yes 5.1 vs. 7.1 audio -- but, I frankly dont give a flying frack about the difference in fidelity at that level. Unless you've got $5-7k worth of speakers, properly arranged in a good room, with a high-quality stereo, you will *NOT* be able to tell the audio difference.

The Xbox 360 has a 3 year warranty. MS has stood-up and taken care of it's customers.

I've got *three* dead PS2s in my closet, and Sony didnt do *crap* to fix them.

YLOD reports are increasing now that the machines are becoming a little older and a little more common -- why does SONY charge $150 for every YLOD repair??

5403d ago 3 agree6 disagreeView comment

The average price of an Xbox 360 is closer to $400 than it is $200.

The price has an affect -- but people are **STILL** choosing the Xbox 360 with very little price difference.

Why? Because the market prefers it.

This is why I've been arguing that a PS3 price-cut isnt going to be the "magic bullet" that some hope. Sony has to start a *price war* to get noticed this gen.
