Hell yea remember playing the first deus ex on PC. Cant wait for this one.
Agreed
I prefer mouse keyboard for FPS, RTS or MMO.
However any platforming or racing game i love the DS3, which is why i use that with my PC.
Not true.
Gaming PC costs a 150usd upgrade to the PC you already have at home. A new one wil cost you 500usd that will run games at 1080p.
Consoles while they initially cost you 300usd, over time you pay alot extra for the games. Which is why consoles are costlier in the long run (which is about a year if you are gamer) more if you dont buy as many games).
In the end which one of us doesnt have a PC now adays at home? the point is moot ...
@shredder
Lol shredder so if the cell is so powerful then why did sony at the last moment decide to go for a dedicated gpu(PC tech)?
Also Ghz has nothing to do with how powerful a chip is. Remember the old P4 it used to run at 4ghz before it was discontinued yet the dual core cpus of today running at 2.6ghz will outperform that old cpu by miles.
The Consoles are marketed to be so powerful. Specially Sony likes to boast so much about its Cell and RSX combo. However when it comes to the games Sonys on first party Devs fail at making games like Uncharted or Killzone run at 1080p.
Oh but we are told the Cell is so powerful. Yet the Cell + RSX fail even when put up against 4yr old PC tech like a 2.4ghz dual core cpu equiped with a 8800gtx, that setup runs crysis 1 in 1080p high settings 30-40fps. I'd like to see cry...
Lol its more like this
PC>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> ;>>ps3 or 360 (just swap places fanbois can take a microsocope to look for the differences cause there isnt much to it).
Id like to see CEll + RSX combo outperform the following:
Dual core cpu + 8800gtx (runs crysis 1 in 1080p high settings).
Something the Cell +rsx will never manage on crysis2. that settles the arguement. Cell + RSX cant even run their hyped exclusives such as uncharted, killzone or GOW in 1080.
Cell + RSX is just sonys way of hyping their machine. Only ignorant fanboys fall for sonys crap.
made the following pc for 1000usd when the ps3 was 600usd.. there still isnt a PS3 game that looks better on this aging PC.
2.4ghz dual core cpu
8800gtx gpu
2gigs ram.
runs crysis @1080p 30-40fps high settings. Something the PS3 will never be able to do with Crysis 2 even though crysis 2 will be less demanding then crysis 1.
While the recession does play a role in demand dropping.
They have themselves to blame for a slowdown in business. Since software is now designed with consoles in mind, there isnt much of a reason for PC gamers to upgrade as well. 3-4yr old gpus still run most games maxed out(since console tech is older then this). Tell us why should anyone be upgrading CPU's or GPU's?
@Jad
Yes there might be a difference between the PS3 and 360, however as a PC gamer i see it as minimal. Since PC tech is currently so far ahead, those differences which you mention between PS3 ad 360 become irrelevant.
They are both seen as out dated techs. Sony may be huffing and puffing about how good the RSX Cell combo is, however till date they dont have a game out that looks better then crysis running on a 3yr old 8800gtx + dual core cpu.
dont see what the problem is. ran fine with me. could check the steam forums for help. Portal is awesome.
Its called dolphin :P
Its an exclusive. Fanboys like to promote what is exclusive to their system. Regardless how the game really is.
The superior version of GEars was out on the PC. Ask any PC gamer and they will tell you the game was terrible.
Both are good go with any yo can get a good deal with.
Have a Lan gaming setup in my house and i can tell ya thats not true.
I have an older PC which i built around the time PS3 launched.
PS3 price at launch 600usd. PC at that time cost me 1000usd. Specs:
2.4ghz dual core cpu
8800gtx
2gigs of ram (now upgraded to 4gig)
That setup still runs all games in 1080p(something PS3 cant do with all its games, not even exclusives). Crysis runs fine in 1080p High s...
PC has all the wii exclusives running in HD.. what are you talking about lol?
in fact PC has all the nintendo collection from the past. More then the wii currently has.
Thinking of hooking up a HTPC to the tv in my bed room. Equip it with a 5770 GPU enjoy all games at 1080p and use the machine as a media center.
Gonna link a DS3 to it for all my wireless gaming needs.
Imagine all the collection i can get on such a system.
All the classic arcade roms to all the console roms.. including Snes, n64, PS1, PS2, wii and many more
Since i already own a 100+game on steam those can just be installed a...
Games price difference between PC versions and console versions can be anywhere between 10-20usd. That adds up really fast once you total it up at the end of the year.
20games bought in a year * 10usd= 200usd
That can be a lot in a few years time, never mind the fact that console makers dont like giving backward compatibility on their next machine. So once the users buy the next machine, they either need to keep their old one plugged in to play all the old g...
Black ops looks incredible..... WHAT?
Its probably gonna be using an ancient engine and running at 630p is that the standard console users are happy with?
Thats the beauty of the PC platform, your games collection keeps growing. I still have my copy of Deus Ex. Recently been playing some of the older games:
Dungeon keeper 2
Half life 2 (need to finish Episode 1 & 2 once done)
Giants
Aside Warcraft 3 which is still my RTS of choice.
