"Even two years later" what?... It's still basically a brand new game. Starcraft Brood War is a masterpiece EVEN 25 years later.
When they say "planned for 25 years", what they mean is, sometime 25 years ago one of them said: "It would cool to do a space game once".
I ran it locked to 120fps all the way through on my PC at least.
Smart people stopped buying Activision-Blizzard games many years ago.
Games came finished in the 90s and didn't have a bunch of paid DLC
> - Activision remade Crash Bandicoot 1-3 without Jason Rubin
And it did not really end up great... The jumping physics and the pill shaped hitbox for Crash really makes especially Crash 2 play a lot worse than in the original...
Crash 3 is plagued by terrible vehicle physics, and also affected by the same issues as Crash 2, but less significant.
No? The souls games have been fine without a pause button for over a decade.
Unless you think developers should do nothing for the 3-4 weeks that passes by between a game going "gold" and release. Not having a day 1 patch would be a waste of time and resources. The problem modern gaming is facing is that a lot of companies overestimate how much they can do in that short period of time, and not the practice of a day1 patch in itself.
It's about realistic expectations. A high quality game is almost in no case going to be hundreds of hours long without having a lot of repetitive, and easily copy pastable tasks.
Ghost of Tsushima for example, I really enjoyed it for the first 20 hours or so, but I just go so bored of the game basically being exactly the same over and over again. Would've liked it a whole lot more if it was a shorter and tighter experience.
3! Battlefront 2
The 2nd one is an absolute masterpiece of a game
This was the BF that was supposed to get the series back on track. But from what I've seen from the BETA I have lost all interest. Meh...
BETA a month before release is just a demo. It's not enough time to make meaningful changes. It's just marketing. It's to get streamer hype. What you see in the BETA will be very close to the final game, except for some bug fixes, performance optimization and balance changes. Nothing significant will change.
BFV > BF2 > BF2142 > all the others imo :) But that might be showing my age even more...
I played more video games growing up than anyone else I knew. I played more video games during university than anyone else I knew. I graduated, got a good job, and now, 6 years after I graduated, and thousands of hours in online games later, I work as a programmer for one of the best regarded IT companies in my country.
I hope you don't have kids
Switch is decent, but it's by far my least used device. The amount of quality exclusives for it is pretty lacking to be honest... I'm thinking of selling mine.
I'm not giving them another chance. They have to earn it.
Probably 4-5
