Statement was not make believe but based on leaked console features for a start. PC wise, one can game offline or with updating anti virus ware. Consoles are constrained to premium or payed online gaming subscriptions for the trouble.
Can you imagine if next consoles are online playable only and outages occur with anti used patents to top it all off? Why I love the pc.

If Id were truly sorry for Rage's release standards, They'd be giving the dlc free for us 'alla' Mass Effect 3 style to sympathize with fans, not charging us.
I'd go pc but few hours gaming is inconvenient in resolving game related graphic defects and what have you. As long as consoles deliver future quality graphics and game power, i'm happy.
Dlc has no democracy when money talks. Like having one of two Ferraris to deny the other for craftsmanship. Sucks!
On one hand, upgrading is lousy when keepable games get phased out without backward compatibility after established successors. On the other hand, gaming expectation standards should improve contributed by increasing consumers for true project vision.
In ways, i'm relieved Mgs 4 isn't coming to the 360 otherwise this would probably be the start of a larger continuum of exclusives to bulk up reasons to buy more games that i've already had trouble with in getting every xbox 360 game I've always wanted since it's launch by choosing the xbox 360 for that reason especially for seasonal sales.
Aside from 4k, Always on connection is quiet concerning for weak connections and mid campaign game disruptions as connection locality strengths are generally not in the control of gamers.

Investing in real estate, a car or something just simply sellable has returnable worth than investing in thousands of pounds/dollars of games over the years only to eventually lose their value through the selfish decisions of the PS3's bosses? This could've been held in consideration for gamers of whom, no PS3 would've been successful permanently for the bosses pockets otherwise. Sucks!
Detailed Landscape design, authentic lighting and more seamless physics should add to a more action impressionable feel. I'm sure Rockstar will have ramped up character action physics away from GTA IV's cumbersome combat so i'm psyched for the new choiced emphasis to be had.

I think GTA V has so much missed potential (with reduced capability restraints) as a premier open world franchise on 720. It would make a great launch title for the 720 but I guess Take 2's immediate profits is a consequential factor.
