I'm buying it - it's not like I'm a penny pinching high school or uni student anymore. Professional career hooray!
If only I had as much time to game as I did when I was a uni student though :(.....
I preordered a PS4 in Australia in Feb 2013 after the announcement - I can tell you all, if you didn't pre-order, you won't get a PS4 until March/April. All the retailers are STILL taking pre-orders on shipments that are yet to arrive. Need proof? The two biggest video game retailers here are JB Hi Fi and EB Games:

Makes me want a gaming rig to play skyrim again while it looks like that- fucking awesome!
I think the point is that's one game - think of all the good games that get released that totally flop - there's heaps. Remember how Tomb Raider sold over 3 million copies last year on 360 and PS3 and it still made a loss for Square Enix, because they needed it to sell over 5 million to be profitable? In a world where a game has to sell over 5 million copies just to start turning a profit, then there's something that needs to be done. it's unsustainable for the industry.
I think Sony has gone a way to helping the situation by allowing self-publishing and supporting independent studios - there's some great looking titles coming to PS4.
I agree though - 4-5 major studios/publishers can't support the whole industry. If we want new IP's and variety - something online communities scream for but the average gamer seems to vote with their wallet against - then we need more studios and publishers taking risks. They won't if it's ...
He completely missed the point - it's more like virtual console.
Gran Turismo Prologue anyone? People paid for a demo, and it sold bucketloads.
Ground Zeroes is starting to just sound like pure fanservice, nothing more. I don't really care, I'll still get it... and take my time - maybe I can stretch it to 4! lol
Isn't it a 'prologue'? I don't really care- if it's cheap enough it'll be a digital download for me. It's like a starter to the main course.
He's being saying this for years. Guns of the Patriots was supposed to be the last game in the series...
Then we had Peace Walker (which was brilliant) now this.
there*
PS3>PS4>Xbone
I still watch my blu rays on PS3 despite having a PS4 - PS4 needs a few more updates to make the experience smoother.
Well.... I just bought one... literally got it yesterday. So some people do want them.
PS2 was supported well into the PS3 era, so I'm not surprised, but EA basically mean we'll keep releasing FIFA on them...
I actually bought a Wii U this week for Super Mario 3D World. I'm not really on the look out for anything else on the Wii U aside from Nintendo first party titles.
I'm sick of games that don't need multiplayer tacking it on - a lot of games just don't lend themselves to multiplayer. I'm fine with an engrossing single player game. inFamous is a franchise that clearly doesn't need it. It's not built for it.
I really don't care TBH...
I literally just bought a Wii U this week. Haven't even picked it up from the store yet, but I didn't buy it for these types of games. I got a PS4 for that.
I want Nintendo's first party games. They are so refreshing in between playing all the games that revolve around killing people.
Nintendo has posted two FY losses, and they are about to post a third. Sony has been making losses since 2008, and despite gloom predictions they aren't dead either, and won't be.
Nintendo has massive cash reserves from the success of the Wii - if the Wii U is a flop they've got more than enough money to spend on making the next console a success.
Also, their market value and share price has regained nearly all of Tuesday's losses and before ...
I actually noticed this on reuters the other day... http://www.reuters.com/fina...
They're currently trading at about 1000 yen under the pre-Wii U disaster announcement, which is about $10 lower...
I bought Ghosts... didn't even make it to Level 20 - got bored. CoD is over. Activision finally killed it - too much of the same. I'm ready for something new...
But I got a PS4.... lol
Just an FYI this article is somewhat incorrect - the numbers they're referring to are NPD, which is North American retail- doesn't account for Europe/Oceania and Asia and elsewhere.
