I heard they said before the release of XIII that if it would be successful enough they had cut out enough content that didn't make it into the first game to make a second game.
Why do these articles keep popping up? Its Call of Duty! Its extremely popular and extremely unpopular and that's cause its literally the top video game every year! You don't need "top 5 reasons" blahblahbla or statistic between MW3 and BF3. Its obvious MW3 will win sale wise and be greatly received by fans but also spit on by others. In everything except fan loyalty MW3 wins.
