actually if you think about it, 360 owners need a ps3. in terms of games, you could buy almost every 360-exclusives on the pc. mass effect, gears of war, braid, even upcoming titles such as allan wake. try finding a copy of mgs4 on other consoles or pc. most of the people here have pcs, you could even get your 360 or ps3 controller to work on the pc versions of the games :)
the improvements weren't just minor. it wasn't just a simple expansion, it's a system seller for one thing. there's almost 60% more to do and to say that returning players won't be getting anything worth revisiting is an understatement. unite (or 2g) offered tons and tons of improvements over the freedom 2. atleast the ign au team realized it.
7 is too low for this game. the game is simply incredible if you have the time to devote on it. this isn't a simple pick and play game. you really have to give a ton of hours for this. i've played more than 400 hours (counting monster hunter freedom 2) and still have fun playing it til now. playing it alone is challenging but with others it's simply fun no questions asked. this is meant for hard core gamers, casual won't be able to get along with it.
for one thing gamers are getting smarter. RRoD is going to be extinct and that is one of the reason why the 360 has sales, for unit replacement. bluray > dvd, for $60, blu ray offers much more

Whoah! thats serious money theyre gonna pay and its the employees and not the executives that are gonna be affected by this! Wouldnt it be more justifiable to punish the ones who thought and implemented the idea rather than the whole company?

quality? really? how come? the hardware can't even pass sony' QA if it was tested.
the line up for this year is still great, uncharted 2 alone tops everything. compared to other consoles that don't have anything to offer.

They will never ever satisfy the hardcore anymore since they already went the way of the PS3 and 360.
