There are a heap of people that are watching hamfisted videos of other people trying to make the game look bad and forming their opinion from that. If you like Skyrim/fallout then you are very likely to enjoy this. I’m having a blast and the game gets better and better the longer you play

I have never seen this level of bad will towards a game before release. There’s an army of people hoping the game will be great (which is normal) but an opposing army just as big hoping the game will be shite. You just don’t see this kind of petty ness in other entertainment industries. It’s a real stain on the gaming community.

How is hyping a game toxic? Saying and hoping something is going to be good is only positive (unless you are a petty Sony fanboy). Saying/hoping something is going to poor so that you can chase pleasure in other’s disappointment is only negative (unless you are a petty Sony fanboy).
I would imagine it’s actually pretty normal for a brand new ip to come together and become enjoyable to play in its final year of development. Although in your mind the last of us was fun to play after a few of the assets had been coded.
