From my experience with RFOM and Gears 1, there is no question that the Gears series is all around better. RFOM was generic graphically, online, and I played through the whole game and didn't realize the protagonists name until I read this ridiculious fanboy blog.
I personally am not interested in Generic FPS #2, but Gears 2 will not be missed.

The two games that you mentioned do have good graphics. At the same time thinking that the graphics of those games is ony possible on ps3 shows your ignorance of the hardware in both machines.

I'll bet internet ad companies are laughing maniacally right now. They are probably already finding ways to devour that bandwidth back to speed it is now.
I imagine that there is some truth to the depth comment. There is only so much that could be done with a game that is essentially a level editor, without straying from the "creative freedom" aspect of the game. Bungie did it first with the Forge in Halo 3, and although cool initially, you are missing the structure of a storyline, player progression, and a cool ending. For lack of a better example, it's like having sex, but never reaching your climax.
