Yeah, same problem in South Africa. We're all using LIVE, of course, but with fake UK / US addresses. And when region-protected DLC comes out, we all have to use VPNs. What a drag.
MS has been promising LIVE since the Xbox launched here in 2007. I understand that our broadband infrastructure in SA is somewhat sub-par in comparison to the States and Europe, but it's good enough for LIVE. The thousands of South Africans on LIVE Gold accounts is testament to this.
There's always at least one moron trotting out this boring, unoriginal line, isn't there? *slow clap*
Who is responsible for approving this garbage? Honestly. :/
...You're saying there'd be less piracy if game shops allowed returns and refunds? LOL.
But what did this guy do to start off with? I think it's awfully convenient that this video is so one-sided.
"Not that the 95 score was any implementation, but now we have this?"
Try some copy editing. Publishing nonsense like this does absolutely absolutely bugger all for the credibility of the site.
Oh, girls are around and playing games. We just keep quiet about it. Why? See most of the comments above mine. I think I speak for all girl gamers when I say I don't have time for retards.
You think a nobody site like Burn360 got a pre-release review copy? This guy's playing a pirated copy of the game - the Xbox version hit the torrents a few days ago already.
You'd think these guys could be a bit more subtle about it.
Braid instead of DA:O? It's not even the same genre. Was the writer huffing petrol?
Um. Aren't those purchases tied to your Live profile? In other words, all you're doing is piling multiple non-transferable licences onto your own profile? GG.
[EDIT] Oh, looks like boxed copies. Nice!
@ PinkUni: On behalf of the women of the world, I think I should just point out that, really, rape is a crime worse than murder. Why? Because the victim has to live with it.
This is the same guy who sued Sony for banning him from PSN. Clearly he's an attention whore.
Oh, ugh. The quoted article from the Telegraph is just embarrassing. I'm a female gamer, and I've already finished MW2 twice, including Veteran difficulty. I'm not the only one, either. :|
"Xbox Owners who also own a PlayStation seem to rather game on the PS3 [citation needed]."
What a load of rot. How does this spurious bullshit manage to get past the vetting procedure anyway?
"Maybe they absolutely want to sell their copys of the game.
Maybe they had pressures from Activision or Infinity Ward.
Unfortunately, customers are angry and they tell it."
Submitting reviews of a game that's not even out yet was hardly a good way to start off, was it?
Is it really so hard to get "you're" and "your" sorted out? :/
I love how 95% of the posts here are only vindicating everything claimed in the article.
^5, kiddies.
I write for a magazine. Old school. ;)
Um. No. They won't ban a console for using LIVE in a non-LIVE territory. I've been using LIVE in South Africa for three years now, alongside thousands of other South Africans. No bans. It's more an inconvenience than anything else.
