I completely agree, I think Inti Creates does better when they have full control over a project.
I think this will be up to the mission design. From what it looks like they will be rolling out free missions consistently after launch that are in the same levels, but feature different quest lines. This game will truly live or die by its offerings.

The characters and politics in the God Eater series are generally really good. There’s always some dramatic double cross reveal that happens too and I love it

It was enough to get me more interested than I have been in the game. All I’m hoping for is to care about this world and characters and the story trailer provided at least a glimpse of that.
I hadn’t thought about a more Armored Core approach. I would definitely enjoy that.
