PC version is the definitive version
You and 100 other people are literally dropped on a fair size island. Lots of different infrastructure and terrain. Over a short time and in stages the game forces everyone to come closer. It is a last man standing situation. Different areas on the island can give the potential for different weapons and loot. You are required to survive. Folks love getting as prepped up as possible and managing the game mechanics that force "closeness" to a point where you feel you are equipped enou...
Warhammer Online too
Any release date announced?
Very cool tech and optimizations
Wrong - you can take your "Feels per second" and I'll look at Frames Per Second - look up AMD tests - it shows 1080 beats it in more games AMD tested themselves period. Here you go buddy take a close look at factual numbers and not "feels" - https://forums.anandtech.co...

"I’m going to end this article with a story since I think it is appropriate right now. Back at CES I had the chance to sit down over supper with a long-time ex employee of AMD and RTG. When asked about the long, drawn out release of Vega his simple answer was: There’s two ways to break bad news t...
These aren't my quotes - I've listed where they came from - the Tech Press!
It is power hungry and it can't beat a 1080, it trades blows with it and that is right from AMD themselves.
I suggest reading up on it and waiting for reviews, cheers!
Very underwhelming and disappointed.
A $600/700, power hungry, water cooled/air cooled Vega has about = performance to a $514 aftermarket GTX 1080.
Anandtech - "what we’ve been told is to expect the Vega 64 to “trade blows” with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080."
Techpowerup - AMD provided some internal performance numbers from their own testing, so as always take these with a grain of salt. These tests were done on an Intel Core i7-7700K at 4.2 GHz, 16 GB...
HBM has been a bad bet for AMD unfortunately, it's currently very late, way below bandwidth targets, likely running at higher voltages and probably has less than ideal yields.
AMDis also stuck with a slightly less optimized process for HP silicon, I reckon that's worth at least 10℅ performance or 15℅ lower power consumption at these clocks, all these things combined add up to a nightmare for AMD. I was apprehensive at first about Vega being a disappointment. But all this tal...
(my observations over the past few years) AMD = poor driver support, poor blower GPU fans, poor GPU roadmap, not optimized for as many games and NVIDIA, shorter life-cycle (they die faster), poorer software, they run hotter and they make more noise (past 2 years of iterations since GTX 480 space heater - AMD have gone backwards / and/or NVIDIA forwards through being more efficient, cooler) etc etc.

Good timing Polygon, right before Steam Summer Sale. Little dodgy there.
With these anti Steam articles today, sounds like good timing right before Steam Sales and done with purpose
Need for server control just like in previous BF games.

The Polaris looks pretty bad ass and is expensive to boot. I wonder how long in game spent until something like that is affordable to purchase?
Of course it was pre-rendered in parts, that is exactly what I was expecting. There has been something pre-rendered at every Con so far. What I expected to see was also how they explained scaling on Cry Engine 8x8km blocks to planetary scale, which was explained again. I've no issues with what was shown or how it went down. The fly through from space over the mountains to live on the planet was totally fine. Gives the idea of how it will be. The little guy on the mountain was cool.
Pretty stunning to be honest. That fly through demo to the planet and mock mission was exactly what I expected to see and they delivered.
What I like about what happened yesterday is that the road-map was laid out for everyone to see. I appreciated that update, now I know where I stand with the ship I bought.
At roughly "2-3 months" mentioned for each update iteration that is looking like 5 updates to 4.0 so another 10-18 months of solid develop...
