Everything about Destiny has had the feeling of watching a car crash in slow motion. It's been an abhorrent mess since the word GO and it just keeps getting worse and worse.
Wow, this is a pretty messed up situation...
Upon reading the above article and the forum it lists as its source, I thought "Damn, this Jason guy is totally screwing everyone over!"
But then, after checking out what Jason himself had to say on the GM forums ( http://www.greedmonger.com/... I really don't know what to think any...
To be honest, it is kind of messed up that they're allowing prices to drop like this with so little time having passed since launch. It's not as though it's some unknown title that nobody was going to buy for full price anyway.
As mentioned below, our reviewer actually gave the game two scores: 4.5/10 ("Lacking") for playing with random strangers, and 8.5/10 ("Great") for playing with friends, which I assume is how most people would be playing. We averaged the two and put "6.5" as N4G only allows a single numerical score, which seemed to have caused some confusion here.
I know this is a bit late, but the "6.5" was due to the fact that our reviewer gave the game two scores, which we averaged since N4G only allows for a single numerical score. From the review:
"Score(s):
GTA Online Heists with friends: 8.5 | Great (+)
GTA Online Heists with random Internet people: 4.5 | Lacking (+)"
Our reviewer loves GTA and did indeed like Heists - he just didn't like the "having to rely on random...

I haven't tried with Far Cry 4 itself, but a few weeks back I did try to purchase the full version of Assassin's Creed IV via the Japanese PSN (and it took me close to an hour to figure out why my purchase wasn't working; there's literally one sentence mixed in with the fine print under the game description telling you that you need to use a credit card and why) and wasn't able to do it with cash/PSN...
Really, I was actually hoping that Sega would be *against* this sort of practice so it's sort of extra frustrating.
A few months back, we interviewed one of the producers of PSO2 for the site and (this was when we were speaking off-the-record so it didn't get into the published interview) he had mentioned how he didn't like that sort of practice, and how the company itself was trying to avoid sketchy stuff like that in order to keep fans, not look slimy, etc... An...
We really hope this turns out to be true as well!
We've had a strong connection with (and owe a lot to) EarthBound since launching AUTOMATON earlier this year, and this would really make our year!
From all the people who call it "the shittiest (non-) FF game EVAR", etc.
I actually thought the same thing ("It was a perfectly fine game, nice intro to RPGs for people who didn't really play them, like me when I first bought it") until a few years ago, when I realized that pretty much everyone I knew who was into video games - and especially FF - seemed to absolutely HATE it... Graham (the writer) apparently had a similar experience, so he wrote this...
Unfortunately, since "video games and reporting thereof" isn't considered as "important" as something like, say, banks/corporations laundering money or politicians being bought and sold, nobody in any position to do so is going to bother enacting any new laws or anything like that, so no matter how this whole thing turns out it most likely won't spell the end to anything. All it's likely to do is further piss off and provoke people who have plenty of yelling an...
