gotta remember, ps2 was the only real competition back then and the ps2 was about 5 years old at the time. so when xbox was released it was a fresh new console, which helped its sales
at the moment, theres 3 consoles to compete with. wii is dominating stealing alot of sales and xbox360 is slowing it down aswell, not to mention the price of the ps3
as soon as the ps3's price drops you'll see it sell alot faster.
