Looks like the leak actually DID led Sony to finally put the game on shelves. (Sorry but logistics improvements in the middle of the peak of global crisis in the US and Japan is plain absurd)
I can't say I'm happy about that, I really want this game and it's sad this had to happen to have it scheduled for release.
At least it's gonna be available sooner than expected after the latest delay including reimbursements. That really got me worri...
Another thing that adds up to my theory is that it doesn't make any sense to delay the game indefinitely and reimburse thousands (if not millions) of users just to re-schedule it so soon, just a few hours after the massive leak.
Someone bursted Sony's plans whatever they were. That's for sure.
PS. What is sure is that this wasn't due to "Fixed logistics"... not while in a much worse situation now in USA and Japan (covid) than we...
"Oh... you were expecting Sony to specifically state they announced the game release date because of the Leak."
You actually were LOL...
* Personal attacks again * It's unbelievable how easy is to get under sony boys skins with logical statements they fail to see. ( I actually believe they - you - do see it, it's just denial )
Don't let it bitter your life. You will see a lot more of things like these this year. So...
Oh... you were expecting Sony to specifically state they announced the game release date because of the Leak.
Sorry, that won't happen, but given they reacted in less than 24 hours after cinematics ending, final boss, gameplay and plot were filtered to the Internet, it's pretty OBVIOUS. Even if you actually believe Sony's reasons for the delay (I guess you're one of those that actually do) Sony itself declared one of the main reasons of pushing the game was ...
• Sony wanted to publish this in May and sell a separated Remaster for PS5 Later, just like they did with TLOU1 remastered... the biggest system seller at PS4 launch. • Microsoft comes up with "Free Remasters" for Series X... kills that strategy. • With the excuse of covid, Sony delayed the game "indefinitely" so they can launch it for both PS4 and PS5 in parallel and keep the hype and charge on both console...
That leak really pushed Sony to release the damn game. I guess that's good news for us waiting for the game for years, but not for Sony. Things could (and should) have been handled differently.
Cancellations, postponed games, awkward briefings, people leaving the company to Microsoft and others, mass layoffs and now inside leaks (this is a developer's build)
Something's really, really wrong inside Sony these months.

The older article failed because they said it wasn't confirmed. Now it is confirmed and it's everywhere (Gamespot, WindowsCentral, GamingBolt, etc...) It IS relevant news. The Initiative keeps building its "Dream Team" First Party Studio. Isn't it what everyone was asking them for? Including Sony fans.
Lol... why is there so much hatred against Series X from Sony fans?
Isn't it better that now Playstation has proper competition instead of a consola that nobody knew where it was aiming at. Microsoft is getting everything right, or at least they're doing their best. In the hardware side, the job is done. Games will come starting this holidays. This is exciting news guys, stop hating, start enjoying (and saving, you might want to buy both consoles)
Indeed, that's how it should've been done. Probably not what Sony wanted though.
This is my theory:

So this has been finally confirmed. Great addition to the Initiative. Can't wait to see what Microsoft's cooking for the next gen! Exciting times!
Why would I? I want to see PS5 news. Real news. I'm hyped about next gen.
How about we start having the web hyped about something that isn't a rumor, a patent, speculation or anonymous "opinons" about the PS5? No, seriously.
Lol... why is there so much hatred against Series X from Sony fans?

But how well will it perform in comparison to the competition? That's the real question.
They finally realized those were the correct ergonomics, not dualshock's.
