It was crappy wiring in the walls. The xbox and the heater both pull a lot of amps. So when both are plugged into one outlet it heated up that wire so quickly that it caught fire. A thicker gauged wire would have prevented this or plugging the heater into another outlet.
No joke. The lag was insane. Luckily you can switch local, which has no lag (well depending on your internet connection).

Because it is the one making all the money and bringing a whole new market audience to the industry. Neither console has done that as well. Both 360 and PS3 have constantly had to change their consoles hardware and software to keep up. If PS3 was so future proof, then they wouldn't have to keep telling themselves that.

I can't wait for GoW2 to come out. Hopefully the 100 enemies will be something that is done throughout the game and not some lame background thing. Also why are people comparing GoW with Resistance? Fanboys need to start enjoying games instead of trying to compare two different types of shooters.
This is about game sales. The DS has outsold any console especially in Japan, where the DS is so mainstream almost every house has one in it. I hope they don't stop the sell of these devices, because I actually use my M3 Simply to convert my DS into a MP3 player. I don't have an iPod and don't need one since I have my DS now to play music.

This was a smart move on Sony's part to have the Blu-Ray attached because it helps inflate their numbers to look like consoles are being bought by more gamers, but the truth is it's just being used as a Blu-Ray player. I know several non-gamers who have bought the PS3 because it is one of the best Blu-Ray players out there, but what matters for Xbox and PS3 is the software. Who can sell more software because they both are taking a hit on the console.

There is an audience in America for RPGs on the 360, but for some reason M$ test the market in Japan, where they don't want anything to do with the American game console. If M$ brought these games to America, then they would have some better success.
edit: Mass Effect sold 1.6 million within the first 6 weeks, not 1.5 million for all time. I can't find an all time total though.
I've had a glitch where if I get a fast enough car and hit another car from behind the driver will exit the car on fire. Then about 10 seconds later their car will catch on fire, but my car will be fine. I'm going to use that swing set glitch to get the 5 rolls achievement.

There are several sandbox games coming out this year that will most likely do very well: APB (this is going to be fun online) and Prototype (this will most likely have a great single player).
My biggest problem with SR is that part 1 had so many bugs online and in campaign. Hopefully SR2 will be debugged before it ships.
Does Sony have the power to say no Blu-Ray for Microsoft? I think they should. I don't think the Blu-Ray will do go on the xbox because the users who bought the HD-DVD will feel too burnt to waste money on it and will probably instead just buy a PS3.

Until iPhone can create it's Mario, Sonic, Master Chief, etc. it can't compete. iPhone doesn't sell as many units as a DS and its because people serious about gaming will always buy a real handheld even if they have a phone that plays games.
