Hey everyone, I hope you enjoy the podcast. We've gotten some feedback from our readers at Gamer 2.0 as well as from one of the guys that approved the article.
It was a ton of fun to record.

Haha.
Atari could definitely use some new age thinking and it's guaranteed they offered him a fat check to turn things around. I mean FAT!
By far the biggest news of the year (until EA buys Take Two, that is). Kind of a weird decision, especially since the PS3 is just hitting its stride. So now Kutaragi and Harrison have departed in the PS3 era.
I think this is sensationalizing a non-story. Barack has yet to attack video games, he's just urging parents to get rid of the distractions and do some actual parenting by spending time with your children. A lot of parents in our country just plop the kid in front of the tube and go about their day.
N+ is one of the most entertaining and difficult flash games I've ever played. Really great physics going on and a definite recommendation. I can't wait to see the Xbox 360 translation.
That kind of sneaks up on you and punches you in the mouth with pure goodness.
Much like LocoRoco, which I really enjoyed.
The piracy on PC games is rampant, and I'm not too surprised casual games are hit so hard. They're low cost games so a lot of people are like "Well, they're not worth much, it's not a big deal if I pirate it." It's really hard to publish games for the PC these days. Sales are lower and there's a hell of a lot of piracy.
I will say this, as a member of the press I saw Spore for the first time at E3 06 and what they had even then was pretty amazing. We'll see how everything shapes ups once all the hype pasts, but considering how good it looked even two years ago then it wouldn't be surprising if it's a pretty good game. Obviously, I can't critique until I play the full thing, but it looks good.
And this is coming from someone who pretty much hated the Sims
Yeah AudioSurf actually sounds like a lot of fun. We'll see when it finally releases, but if it does deliver then I hope it makes the trip to XBL Arcade and PSN.
All I keep hearing from devs is that once you're not scared of the complexity you realize how beastly the system is. Perhaps the PS3 won't max out for a good 8-9 years, but I just doubt that considering how impressive hardware, no matter how advanced, always tops out after a few years. If it can actually outlive the typical 5 year window, then that will be something.
I have to give you a bubble just because you mentioned Streets of Rage. I'd kill for another GOOD Streets of Rage. If they messed it up, I'd be pissed.
I'm just going to put it out there. Some kind of ingenious mix of 2D and 3D platforming would revive Sonic. Cut out a bunch of the characters and stick to just 3 or 4 basic characters. Start fresh and build from there.
That's my suggestion.
I hated the on foot action; it was atrocious. Absolutely atrocious. It tried too much to be like GTA rather than zone in on its niche. It kind of reminds me of Kingdom Under Fire becoming a third person button mashing slasher in Circle of Doom.
I've got to agree that Burnout is most definitely a franchise at this point.
I'm sure for many, including myself, the most painful one listed is Sonic. It was such a great 2D series and the folly of endless Sega blusters. The series has never been the same for me.
Yeah, Final Fantasy VII was my induction into really escapist storytelling. I had been reading books forever, but nothing was as captivating as actually experiencing a story unfold around you. I wasn't even a very SERIOUS gamer back the. I played a lot of games, but had never touched anything as complicated as an RPG until then.
I think casual games are the building blocks to more expansive experiences, and I hope more and more new video gamers discover the wonders of epic video...
To bait GameSpot traffic after the Gerstmann thing. I like Destructoid, but I doubt how genuine this is. I'm sure a part of him doesn't want gamers getting early information because it may spoil their experience, but it's also on the gamers themselves and not the publication.
That's like the New York Times not publishing crooked government policies because it's in the best interest of "America" for not letting the info out so that terrorists know what we're doing. That'...
I think it has a lot more life than MSNBC LOL.
