I connect a laptop to our HDTV to watch Hulu all the time, and I would guess streaming Netflix would be roughly the same quality on Wii.
As long as you don't expect miracles, it's completely watchable. But if you really want HD, go for the full experience and get the Blu-Ray discs instead.
That does seem like a pretty good deal, but they can't be that confident in their own game if they place it at a bargain price right at the start...
The columnist just compared disc-based games to online Flash games.
Are you kidding me?
Not even the developers know when the game will actually get released. A complex Nintendo game like this is almost always delayed.
The game is supposed to diverge from the field -> dungeon format, but they're still working on the dungeons? I remain unconvinced.
Regardless, I don't think we'll hear anything official until E3.
I didn't buy a Wii because I support standard-definition graphics. If I had the choice, I would have happily chosen a Nintendo console with HD graphics over one that didn't, even if it cost more. Graphics aren't the sole deciding factor for most gamers, but it sure is a part of it.
A "very long time" in this industry is - what - two years at best?
I still expect a new console announcement before the end of 2011.
I'm pretty sure I haven't gotten even one perfect game.
But that's where this comes in:
It's too bad the music games (Guitar Hero 5 / Beatles Rock Band) are $10 more expensive than most new Wii games... kinda puts a damper on my excitement for them.
Although Muramasa looks beautiful, I'll have to check that one out.
It doesn't make very much sense why High Voltage would decide to leave out even basic anti-cheating checks for online play... they should have known that a highly competitive game like The Conduit would be a prime target for cheaters to try and get an upper hand in.
But only 4 controllers can be connected to a Wii at a time. Does each kid really need their own, or do they plan to get 3 more consoles to go eventually along with them, I wonder?
Reminds me of Scribblenauts... I may have to check this out.
